Joe Biden asked the “good doctor” Jill to hold his pudding cup yesterday as he chimed in on the attack on Salman Rushdie. I mean, Biden is a world leader, after all, and he has to say something.
Jill and I were shocked and saddened to learn of the vicious attack on Salman Rushdie yesterday in New York. We, together with all Americans and people around the world, are praying for his health and recovery. I am grateful to the first responders and the brave individuals who jumped into action to render aid to Rushdie and subdue the attacker.”-Joe Biden
Just kidding about Joe asking Jill to hold his pudding cup. We all know he had no clue. I could see Jill now, waking the ol’ Prez up from an afternoon siesta (after tacos): “You nincompoop! You have not yet said anything about Salman Rushdie!”
And Joe says…”Salman who?!”
Quick! To the computer to send out a signal on Whitehouse.gov! Okay. A legitimate sentiment to be sorry to hear of the attack on Mr. Rushdie but what comes next? One might just think he had the help of his Vice President, Kamala, herself:
Salman Rushdie—with his insight into humanity, with his unmatched sense for story, with his refusal to be intimidated or silenced—stands for essential, universal ideals. Truth. Courage. Resilience. The ability to share ideas without fear. These are the building blocks of any free and open society. And today, we reaffirm our commitment to those deeply American values in solidarity with Rushdie and all those who stand for freedom of expression.”-Joe Biden
There is no way Joe Biden wrote this. A person with no insight whatsoever as to even what day it is, is going to comment on someone else’s insight? Did not think so. Not to mention Rushdie’s injuries. He was stabbed roughly 10 times, put on a ventilator and suffered damage to his liver, nerves in his arm and will, most likely, lose an eye.
Rushdie apparently lost an eye in the attack and this bozo uses the word “insight” !!!! Good god!

The term “Bozo” is putting things too mildly, in my opinion. Whatever happened to “hateful attacks having no place in America“? Assuming the current guy taking up residency in The White House can string a few words together to construct a couple of sentences, this statement coming from The White House (and, supposedly, Joe Biden) is odd. So many things surrounding Biden and the Muslim world are odd, to be honest:
I guess Biden’s cool remarks about Rushdie’s attack are not so odd if the Biden Administration desires to strike another “deal” with Iran. Can’t go around talking about hateful crime committed by a Muslim man and an Iranian sympathizer can ya, Joe? Got to play it safe and play it cool as an ice cream cone, man.
Heaven forbid, Joe Biden mention the painfully obvious. Yeah Joe, fatwas have no place in America, either. But, the President with no backbone and his people do not want to upset the Iranians. The sentiment and the statement, eerily resembles this missive written by former President, Jimmy Carter, in 1989:
While Rushdie’s First Amendment freedoms are important, we have tended to promote him and his book with little acknowledgment that it is a direct insult to those millions of Moslems whose sacred beliefs have been violated and are suffering in restrained silence the added embarrassment of the Ayatollah’s irresponsibility.”-Jimmy Carter, New York Times Archives
He’d be more fired up at the NRA if a gun attacked Rushdie instead of a lone wolf motivated by the Iranian Fatwa.

Sad, and quite possibly, true.
“Biden’s” official statement is “meh”, at best. It’s the ultimate weak, passive and empty statement-many of which we have heard from this administration when the events do not conveniently line up with their narrative. You want the TRUTH, as Biden suggests? The TRUTH is someone tried to carry out a fatwa on Salman Rushdie that was issued 30 years ago. The TRUTH is our feckless administration is in a precarious situation and wheeling and dealing with Iran and to offer condemnation on an attempted fatwa that was carried out on our soil is oh-so-very-inconvenient at this time. So, we’ll just go with empty sentiments and words ala somebody did something.
It strikes us as odd that both Joe and Jill Biden, never in their lives ashamed of seizing any opportunity, shirked this opportunity of actually providing a meaningful statement on Mr. Rushdie’s attack. They completely threw away the opportunity to call this attack what it actually was-an act of hate and violence. My guess was that it was not convenient to call out the motive and the perpetrator and the cleric who called for commissioning this act of violence years ago. From the Bidens, thoughts and prayers out of sheer obligation of the office will just have to do for now.

While Rushdie’s First Amendment freedoms are important,
They are and that should have been the end of the statement.
we have tended to promote him and his book with little acknowledgment that it is a direct insult to those millions of Moslems whose sacred beliefs have been violated
“But sir! Why doesn’t anyone worry about Christians and their beliefs getting insulted?”
“That’s because Christians don’t chop off heads when they get upset. Muslims are known to do that.”
and are suffering in restrained silence the added embarrassment of the Ayatollah’s irresponsibility.
Oh do fuck off with that. I don’t recall massive angry protests against the camel fellators in Iran when that fatwa was decreed. I don’t recall any imam in my country condemning it and calling a fatwa against the Ayatollah. But some animals are more equal than others.
[…] this mindless coward. For now, a simple “no” will have to do. We’ve gone from meaningless word salads to one-word answers with this […]
