ISIS militants, those “nice,” “kind,” and ever so “gentle” souls are continuing their good works during Ramadan. In recent days it is the Syrians are the beneficiaries of their efforts.
Eyewitnesses told the Syrian ARA News, “Those who break Ramadan are being crucified on electricity poles in Deir ez-Zor,” in eastern Syria.
“The roads are filled with crucified men who violated the group’s strict regulations during Ramadan. There are dozens of victims who remain hanged on electricity poles across the province,” they said.
Young boys and men are being crucified for breaking their fast during Ramadan. Here’s the kicker, the determination as to if they did or didn’t break their fast is totally arbitrary.
In other words, it likely depends upon the mood of that particular evil terrorist as he’s strolling by. However, according to our esteemed Duffer in Chief, we’re supposed to defeat their sick, twisted, evil ideology with better IDEAS…and probably some therapy sessions too.

Did you get that? It seems that vision is much more attractive than military might.
This broader challenge of countering violent extremism is not simply a military effort. Ideologies are not defeated with guns, they are defeated by better ideas and more attractive and more compelling vision. So the United States will continue to do our part by continuing to counter ISIL’s hateful propaganda, especially online. We’ll constantly reaffirm through words and deeds that we will never be at war with Islam. We are fighting terrorists who distort islam and its victims are mostly Muslims.
We’re also going to partner with Muslim communities as they seek the prosperity and dignity they observe. And we’re going to expect those communities to step up in terms of pushing back as hard as they can in conjunction with other people of good will against these hateful ideologies, particularly when it comes to what we’re teaching young people.
How’s this new vision working out for us, for the Syrians, and for those who’ve been crucified for just breathing? Not well at all. $500 million taxpayer dollars is to be used over the next three years for Syrian recruitment and training efforts against ISIS. The results of those early efforts are in, and they aren’t pretty.
President Obama’s $500 million plan to raise an army of Syrian rebels to fight the Islamic State horde is falling far short of its target, attracting only a few dozen recruits to the cause.
“As of July 3, we are currently training about 60 fighters,” Defense Secretary Ash Carter told lawmakers Tuesday.
Who cares if the vetting process is critical and takes time. What these numbers tell me is that the new “vision” for combating such evil ideology is face-planting before it can even begin. Especially when Obama himself admits that ISIS does have worldwide reach. However, he stopped short of saying that more troops will be sent over. Then again, when we need them, will we have enough soldiers to fight ISIS?
The Army plans to cut 40,000 soldiers from its ranks over the next two years, a reduction that will affect virtually all of its domestic and foreign posts, the service asserts in a document obtained by USA TODAY.
The potential troop cut comes as the Obama administration is pondering its next moves against the Islamic State militant group in Iraq and Syria. President Obama said Monday he and military leaders had not discussed sending additional troops to Iraq to fight the Islamic State. There are about 3,500 troops in Iraq.
This will leave the US with its lowest troop levels since World War II. Let me repeat that. It will leave us with our lowest troop levels since BEFORE World War II. Given the recent attacks in Tunisia, France, and elsewhere that we wrote about here, how in the world does this make sense? Oh wait, that’s right, Obama and common sense are not the same. He’s all about ideas and chit-chat…or something. Quite a few across the twitterverse had some helpful commentary on this new “IDEAS” policy:
Churchill: "We shall debate them on the beaches. We shall dialogue with them in the fields…"

@Newsweek Too bad you weren't @POTUS during WWII. You could've had a fireside chat with Adolf himself and changed his mind. #LiberalLogic

Remind me again what better ideas Obama has to defeat this unspeakable evil I'm all ears #ISIS pic.twitter.com/vZOLaWBL88

Our Duffer-in-Chief mentioned that he doesn’t want us to play “Whack A Mole” with ISIS nor plan his strategy that way. Yet that’s what we are doing, and its NOT working. Whether Obama likes it or not, the reality is ISIS is evil and they most certainly will not mellow out and become a contributing member of society. Nope, they are having far too much fun crucifying Syrians for supposedly breaking Ramadan. You know what? Dump the unwinnable ‘Whack A Mole’ strategy. Its time for a new game; one that recognizes that we are playing against pros, NOT a high school JV team.
Assad is looking better and better by the day. But then again, this is Islamania in action-killing is all it knows. If no “infidels” are around then other Koranists deemed insufficiently pious will do nicely for the blood sacrifice to their god. What’s happening in Syria now is what will happen to the world at large if Islamania ever captures the whole world-which of course is its ultimate goal. There will NEVER be any peace as long as there are followers of the Koran around-despite the promises of its followers.
When, in a couple of generations removed from all the mindless worship and objective clarity can be applied again, historians will easily judge Obozo as THE worst “leader” the West had ever had-and at a key point in world history. Comparisons to Nero will likely be frequently made and people will be astounded at how somebody like that could have held not one but TWO terms as president. This presumes Western civilization survives that long of course.
That’s the really scary thing about it. Syrians might decide to choose Assad again over the terror ISIS is raining down on them…when he’s just as bad!!
Unfortunately I think you are correct. Its going to take a couple of generations to have reality come back to stay…
