The pre-Inaugural festivities got underway yesterday with the arrival of the Trump family to Andrews Air Force base. As previously mentioned, all eyes were upon them for a multitude of reasons. One of those reasons I freely admit is Fashion. What would Melania, Ivanaka, and the rest of the women in the Trump family wear?

This is especially of interest since so many designers have essentially shot themsevles in the keister by having stompy foot hysterics over the very IDEA of potentially being asked to dress the newest First Lady instead of Michelle or Hillary pantsuit! Oh. The. Horror! Well, as you’ll see below…the women of the Trump family started the Inauguration festivities on a note of classy style and it continued into the evening.

Melania: Her daytime outfit was quietly elegant.

It also had significant meaning for the designer.

“I was honored to dress the First Lady of the United States for her visit to Arlington Cemetery. Throughout American history, our military personnel have faced difficult circumstances with courage and bravery. The men and women interred at Arlington gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, as did their families who lost loved ones. We owe them our reverence and support.

“Mrs. Trump’s visit to Arlington was particularly poignant for me, as my biological father is a wounded veteran. His experience, and the lifelong disabilities he sustained, affected my family deeply. I have immense gratitude for all our armed forces and hope we can move forward with the intention of peace and healing for our country and the world,” the statement read.

As a matter of fact, Ferrari had absolutely zero qualms about dressing Melania.

“I am absolutely opposed to discrimination in any way. I wanted to give her her own voice. Empowering women is all that matters to me. I do not discriminate whether for race, religion, color of skin, sexuality, political affiliation — what have you. No, I do not believe in it in any form.”

Wow. I’ll have to check out Norisol Ferrari’s clothing line! Meanwhile, Kelley Green was Ivanka’s choice for the D.C. arrival, the solemn visit to Arlington National, and the Make America Great Welcome concert.

The rest of the Trump family struck the same note of dignity and class for the day’s events.

While we don’t know about Eric or Donald Jr’s wives outfits, we do know that Tiffany’s ensemble for the day was drawn from her sister Ivanka’s fashion line. Furthermore, Tiffany made it clear that all her outfits for this very special weekend are chosen by her and paid out of her own pocket. 

Last night the annual Cabinet dinner with donors was held at Union Station. I’d have to say, the ladies hit it out of the park!

Tiffany’s gorgeous Swarovski crystal and delicate Solstiss lace gown was handmade by designer Anne Bowen. Eric Trump’s wife Lara wore a beautiful ice blue gown.

And Kellyanne Conway dazzled in red.

But of course…many were wondering what Melania would be wearing for the evening. And I have to say, she knocked it out of the park! Dazzling in a gold embroidered Reem Acra dress, she hit a note of classy elegance.

On the fashion front, this Inauguration is starting off on a note of elegance, style, and class courtesy of the women in the Trump family.
