The mainstream media would have us believe that the migrants coming from all places Middle East are simply seeking refuge, and need our help. And to some extent, that’s true. The images are compelling, and tug on our heart strings. But it’s not the whole story. Last night, at a raucous city council meeting in my little town in northern Idaho, the newly-minted, and overtly liberal, mayor was certain he’d receive overwhelming support for a resolution he penned in support of accepting Syrian refugees into our town. The document included divisive words like “Nazi,” and “McCarthy,” and “KKK” in reference to those of us who oppose resettlement for, duh, security reasons. Suffice it to say, he was gravely mistaken. Why does he seem so out of touch with reality? Well, I’m betting he’s basing his less-than-informed decision on a media that does little to inform, and much to deceive. In case you missed it, to ring in the New Year, dozens of women throughout Germany were sexually assaulted by what some described as “Arab” “asylum seekers.” It was referenced in the meeting last night:

In response, Cologne Mayor Henriette Reker insisted there’s no reason to link the sexual assaults to the refugees flooding into Germany. Further, police said:
Some of the assaults in Cologne appeared similar to incidents that have been reported over the past two years in Duesseldorf, where men have groped women to distract them before stealing their belongings. The two cities are 25 miles apart.
Yet German Justice Minister Heiko Maas said that “What happened in Cologne and in other places in Germany is unacceptable and can’t happen again,” adding that, “This has never happened before, at least not in these dimensions.” So if this mass uptick in sexual assaults is not linked to the migrants coming from countries whose brutal oppression of women is commonplace, why is it all of a sudden happening now? Methinks the mayor has her head rooted in the sand.
Germany seems to be quickly joining Sweden in a massive increase in sexual assaults. And Angela Merkel, this lies squarely on your shoulders with your insistence that Germany be a tolerant, cosmopolitan city welcoming of anyone who cares to reside there. That rose-colored vision, where diametrically opposed worldviews live together in harmony amid open borders, an utter rejection of reality, has placed your citizens in grave danger, and will likely forever change your nation. And that is the very message those of us in that heated meeting last night tried to convey to an equally uninformed city council.
So you see, elected officials, it is not racist, or bigoted, or Islamaphobic to care about security. Your primary job is to keep your citizens safe. San Bernardino saw one carelessly-vetted Muslim woman murder fourteen of our fellow Americans in a brazen Islamic jihadist attack, the worst on American soil since 9-11. And based on the utter security failure that ushered Tashfeen Malik into our country after having provided a false address, and Facebook messages reportedly full of Jihad-speak, she’s likely not the only radical whose lied their way in. If just one of those in which the bleeding hearts insist we allow into our nation is an Islamic jihadist—even amid a sea of good people—the eventual repercussions will be disastrous. FBI Director James Comey testified to Congress that the refugees coming out of Syria cannot be thoroughly vetted for terrorist ties. How about we take him at his word?
