The Hilton Hotel corporation was facing a major PR debacle after Department of Homeland Security announced a franchise hotel in MN was banning DHS law enforcement from staying there.
NO ROOM AT THE INN!@HiltonHotels has launched a coordinated campaign in Minneapolis to REFUSE service to DHS law enforcement.

When officers attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton Hotels maliciously CANCELLED their reservations.

My first thought on reading the initial reports yesterday was that, if Hilton has any government contracts, they were about to be terminated. Secondly, putting their animosity in writing with the implication that that hotel has the backing of the Hilton corporation was definitely a bold move.
Well, Hilton took notice, as did the franchise company.
A Minnesota hotel that wouldn’t allow federal immigration agents to stay there this month is apologizing and saying the refusal violated its own policies. The Department of Homeland Security had accused the global Hilton hotel chain of a “coordinated” effort to refuse service to its employees.
Hilton and local operators of the Hampton Inn Lakeville property released statements within hours apologizing and said the messages refusing to serve agents who were focused on immigration enforcement didn’t reflect their policies.
This was active discrimination based solely on politics. It’s happened far too often over the last ten years or so, and people have had enough.
Needless to say, Hilton Corporation worked quickly to set things right so DHS agents could stay there after making reservations.
BREAKING: Hilton statement to @FoxNews:
— Bill Melugin (@BillMelugin_) January 5, 2026
"Hilton hotels serve as welcoming places for all. This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced are not reflective of Hilton values. We are investigating this matter with this individual hotel, and can confirm… https://t.co/e9UHjL4L1m
Even the franchise company, Everpeak Hospitality, issued a statement on the matter.
“We are in touch with the impacted guests to ensure they are accommodated. We do not discriminate against any individuals or agencies and apologize to those impacted. We are committed to welcoming all guests and operating in accordance with brand standards, applicable laws, and our role as a professional hospitality provider,” Everpeak Hospitality said.
This is key given that DHS is sending up to 2,000 agents to Minnesota to aid federal prosecutors in tracking down the fraudsters and illegal aliens across the state. Of course, given the scope and breadth of the fraud, there is a very large spotlight on Minnesota right now. Even Tim Walz can’t hide from this mess, one he damned well knew about, by abandoning his run for a third term.
That said, it looked like Hilton had cleaned up their mess and salvaged their brand. Until this happened.
I went into the Minnesota Hilton who “apologized” for banning DHS agents, and EXPOSED them for CONTINUING to ban DHS agents
@HiltonHotels
has decided they want the FULL BUDLIGHT treatment at this point.Hilton’s operator, Everpeak, STRAIGHT UP LIED in their statement yesterday which said they were “in touch” with DHS to accommodate impacted agents, and “do not discriminate against any individuals or agencies.”
NONE of that was true. There was NO attempt to reach DHS agents to make it right, per Asst. DHS Sec.
@TriciaOhioEven the FRONT DESK manager said he had spoken with the owner shortly before I walked in around 10:50pm, and confirmed the ANTI-DHS POLICY REMAINED IN EFFECT.
NOT a good look. And Nick Sortor got it all on video.

Bold move by the guy at the front desk showing he’s happy with the discriminatory policy! Everpeak was definitely working on tanking their brand…and Hilton’s. Well, that news was brought to Hilton’s attention, and they weren’t playing around.
The independent hotel owner had assured us that they had fixed this problem and published a message confirming this. A recent video clearly raises concerns that they are not meeting our standards and values. As such, we are taking immediate action to remove this hotel from our system. Hilton is – and always has been – a welcoming place for all. We are also engaging with all our franchisees to reinforce the standards we hold them to across our system to help ensure this does not happen again.
Anti-Trump pro-illegal immigration loons have been working overtime to refuse service to DHS agents, scream in their faces, bang drums outside their hotel windows, and even physically assault agents. For too long, especially in the blue states, they’ve been able to act with impunity and receive zero repercussions for their actions.
Hilton obviously did NOT want the Bud-Light or Cracker Barrel treatment and acted decisively to salvage their brand.
Supporters of illegal immigration are yelling at Hilton for this move. While others, such as this law student, don’t Constitution well at all.
It’s called the Third Amendment.

Micah is reaping a lovely ratio right now.
Don’t get me wrong, a company can refuse service. But refusing service due to politics in this day and age is a stupid move. Hilton is moving to protect their overall brand by kicking this Everpeak hotel to the curb. It remains to be seen if Everpeak itself will try to right the ship they capsized.

Micah is obviously a Learing Center graduate.
Until I see the guilty called to account (not Hilton corporate) on this, it’s just more disappointment in what this nation has become.
The fact that Hilton has removed their name from that hotel is a start.
Revisit this hotel in 3 months to see how their decision, and Hilton Hotels decision, work out for them. As an aside, I use Choice Hotels when traveling. I have found that most, if not all, are Indian run. I wonder if this is the same for this particular hotel. If so was their decision was retaliation based because of Indian illegals deportations and/or have their commercial drivers licenses being revoked for not being able to read English.
Somewhere I saw the names of the leadership of Everpeak, and your assumption about the ethnicity of the owners is correct.
I’m neutral about whether it is retaliation or not. Especially since some of the illegal truck drivers are Sikh, and I don’t know if there is bad blood between Sikhs and Indians or not.
