To feminists the world is full of misogynistic nails, and they’re just the hammers to whack away at them. And on Sunday, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, became another one of those nails.
So what did poor Kate do?
Why, she showed up at the British Academy Film Awards wearing an elegant forest green dress. Apparently she ignored the feminista dress code, which stated that dresses should be black for the BAFTAs. These weren’t the classic “little black dress” numbers, either — no, the black garb was to show solidarity with the #TimesUp movement. You know, because if wildly wealthy and famous women wear black to high-brow events, sexual harassment will end. Or so they think, but then again they live and work in a fantasy bubble, so there’s that.
But Kate chose to go with green, and how dare she!
Disappointed in #KateMiddleton #DuchessofCambridge not wearing black to the #EEBAFTAs It’s not a political thing. Its a woman thing! #TimesUp #StandTogether

Actually, feminists have made their complaints a ‘political thing.’ It’s what they always do. But the British Royals are strongly discouraged from making any political statements — why, they can’t even vote.
Yet even Piers Morgan stood up for Kate. Good for him.

Yes, I know — who cares about the Royal family, right?
Well, I do. I’m sorry/not sorry that I’m an unabashed Anglophile. A hot ‘cuppa tea’ is like a slice of heaven. I binge watch “The Crown” on Netflix, and I spend my Sunday nights glued to PBS watching “Victoria” (Rufus Sewell as Lord Melbourne — be still my beating heart). I also have an awesome Beatles playlist on my iPhone. On top of that, my Ancestry.com DNA test gave me a 33% British Isles ethnicity, which was higher than I anticipated. So I guess I come by it rightly.
But while here in the States we see another gut-wrenching result of our own crumbling culture — the school shooting in Parkland — isn’t it refreshing to see Prince William and Kate acting like . . .a normal family? Despite William’s dysfunctional parents, he and Kate seem like perfectly decent people, throwbacks to another time when two adults fell in love, got married, and started a family. They represent a return to order. And now they have a third child on the way — which I suppose some environmentalist nuts would say is causing further destruction to the planet. But whatever.
So my hat’s off to Kate Middleton, for respecting the customs of her husband’s family. Moreover, I salute both Will and Kate for showing us that there’s still a place in this world for traditional love, marriage, and children.
Why do the feminist’s have to complain about everything?
I got 4″ of snow today and I’m expecting the women to blame the patriarchy for it.
Well, snow is white…
isn’t it refreshing to see Prince William and Kate acting like . . .a normal family?
Heck, even a bit better than “normal” – with class.
That is a fabulous dress, and the color looks great on her. (Though I admit I’m not a fan of the must-kick-the-dress-to-walk long dragging hems.)
