“How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?”

“Shut up! That’s not funny!”

Wanna hear another feminist joke? Didja hear about the feminist who got triggered because a watch company paid homage to World War II nose art? Breitling Watch placed a sculpture of a bomb-riding blonde in its storefront, and feminist blogger Maria Popova went into a twitter fit in an attempt to shame Breitling.

Needless to say, Ms. Popova just dissed members of the Greatest Generation. You know, those guys who fought, bled, and died during World War II to free the world from tyranny. Pajama boys, they weren’t. And the nose art of the bombers they flew reflect a healthy masculinity. Although Popova would no doubt thinks it was “toxic.”

We at Victory Girls have a particular fondness for one damsel who adorned the nose of more than one plane. If you read our blog, you’ll recognize her.

And here she is on a B-24 Liberator. That redhead really got around!

As well as this babe:

And this gal:

But Popova was not cowed. Instead she sniffed, “If you must invoke attractive women and torpedoes. . .” (which is a laugh, since the girl in the Breitling window straddles a bomb, not a torpedo) “read up on the brilliant Hedy Lamarr, who paved the way for wifi.” Then she provided a self-serving link to her blog site.

Well, yes. Hedy Lamarr was a genius and an inventor, to boot. She indeed helped pioneer wireless communication. But she was also a stunningly beautiful actress. The pinup artist Alberto Vargas painted her like this:

Yes, Hedy Lamarr was also a pinup girl. And it was Hedy, and Betty Grable, and all those scantily clad visions of the feminine who helped to raise the morale of the boys fighting in World War II.

Maria? Go suck an egg. And read a book on World War II.

It also makes you wonder what in their lives was so terrible that it made them miserable little shrews, and made them want everyone else to be just as miserable.

Sadly, I think we’ll always have screeching harpies. We’ve probably always had screeching harpies, but now we have the internet, smartphones, and easy-to-use and not-so-social apps for them.

But on the plus side of the internet ledger, the video leads one to other noseart videos, one of which included some a/c with pictures of the young lady with the pen and book. For some reason though, on one a/c, her attire was a bit, uh… scantier?

    That’s properly a “twit-fit”, Kim. 😉

    That redhead really got around!

Ummmm……… Not gonna go there! 😉

Funny, but some of us like our women hot and smart. It’s why we come to Victory Girls!

    Hi Kim,
I am baffled at women who bash other women for trying to educate and elevate our gender in society. While I understand that you are uneducated on the genuine social issues that sexism causes, these types of views on women do have a bearing on violence against women. More disturbing, you think yourself the scholar here. Is that because you are so fond of your opinion that you believe it is more factual than statistics? “Go read a book on WWII?”
I tell you what; I will help you out. Here are some researched and peer-reviewed scholarly articles for you to read up on facts involving sexism, psychology, and sociology. Being a history buff, you can then do a bit of research on The effects of WWII’s propaganda on the sexual assault and rape incidences during WWII. (https://aquila.usm.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1336&context=honors_theses.)
Kim, you are ignorant on the subject of feminism and sexual violence–but worse, you think you understand it. There is a name for that phenomenon. (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/here-there-and-everywhere/201910/youre-really-not-smart-the-dunning-kruger-effect)
A few facts for you and your sexist followers:
“Sexual violence (SV) is a highly prevalent public health issue in the U.S. Approximately 25.5 million women and 2.8 million men report a lifetime experience of completed or attempted rape.”
National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, CDC, Atlanta, GA (2018) Google Scholar

“The results show that gender inequality, social disorganization, percent residing in SMSAs, the circulation of pornography, economic inequality, and percent unemployed have direct effects on the incidence of rape.”

For the women you love in your life, daughters, granddaughters– pull your head out of your ass.

Your little lady gets around: https://www.amazon.com/Zippo-Pinup-Lighter-Polish-Chrome/dp/B001ANXED6/. I don’t smoke but I’ve got one on order. I wonder which will trigger feminists more, that women once prized femininity, or that we fought a war?
