The Democrats hate the average American. On Thursday, the Democrats shut down H.R. 6858, the American Energy Independence From Russia Act for the fourth time. Because, um, why should we get clean, available energy from the United States when we can buy from Putin or one of the other autocrats putting out dirty energy. The Democrats don’t want to be green; they just want Americans to pay for not paying obeisance to their Dem overlords.
While Joe Biden was in his broadcast studio announcing his depletion of our Strategic Petroleum Oil Reserves, the Democrats were busy keeping us energy dependent and poor. As our Nina wrote, the Bidenites didn’t consult Europe and none of them are depleting their reserves. But, whatevs, it’s only your money and life.

On Thursday, the bill was offered by Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN), who offered up the bill earlier in the month as well. However, it was shot down — for the fourth time — as 218 Democrats in the House voted against the motion, and four did not vote.
The bill, which was initially introduced by Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Bruce Westerman (R-AR) to promote American energy independence at the end of February. The bill would have:
Immediately approved the Keystone XL pipeline.
Removed all restrictions on liquified natural gas (LNG) exports
Restarted oil and gas leasing on federal lands and waters — which Biden’s administration halted.
Protected American energy and mineral development from attacks by the administration.
Require the administration to submit an energy security plan within 30 days and requires Biden’s energy secretary to develop a plan to replace oil drawn down from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).
The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is for an emergency and a mess created by a nasty old man is not a crisis. And, those lithium batteries for your “electric car” isn’t very clean either.

Not just the batteries, the electricity just flows out of the wall for free, after you put in your electric charging station that costs between $400 and $1700. You need that for your hydro-electric/coal fired car. The one that our official government bureaucrat wants you to spend $55k on.
Joe Biden wants to increase taxes on oil producers which will be passed on, necessarily, to consumers. Representatives John Joyce, Lauren Boebert, and Michelle Fishbach put paid to Biden’s plan.

“In his budget, President Biden has chosen to put solar panels ahead of natural gas. He has chosen to put windmills ahead of coal. He has chosen the Green New Deal ahead of Pennsylvanians,” Rep. John Joyce added, slamming Biden’s poor decision-making. “Now the president has decided to ridiculously release oil from our Strategic [Petroleum] Reserves without a concrete plan to refill them.”
Someday we will find acceptable alternative energy methods, we are not there yet. We are decades, maybe away from that day.
Congressman Brian Higgins, D-NY, is worried about our dependence on oil:
What a sad, sad little man. We need to be tougher on ourselves. Countries have weapononized our addiction to oil? Are you freaking kidding me? The U.S. could certainly be energy independent. Mr. Higgins believes that unicorns supply the energy that fuels the electric cars. “The stone age didn’t end because we ran out of stones.” The oil age won’t end because we run out of oil? He is nuts. Electric vehicles will not ween us off our addition to oil. Do these people understand science in any way shape or form? This nimrod wants more dirty lithium battery producers. Right?
This is what we are stuck with? We are stuck with people who hate us. Who don’t live in the same world we live in. They have no clue.

John C. says: Someday, I expect our descendants will mutter darkly about how we took valuable chemical feedstocks out of the ground and just BURNED the stuff, but there is not yet a viable (in real-world terms) alternative. The government(s) can not wave a wand and have new means of generating and storing energy magically appear. The low-hanging energy fruit has already been picked. NO one is suppressing new forms of energy; there are too many billions of whatever currency you prefer to be made.
I firmly believe that electric vehicles will someday largely replace fueled vehicles (Hydrogen is not a fuel, even if you can burn it in an engine; it takes more energy to produce a quantity of Hydrogen than you can recover by burning it or running it through a fuel cell), but the technology is not there yet, and neither is the infrastructure to support all those EVs. But pointing that out is not what gets politicians headlines, contributions, and votes.

Cameron says: I’m disappointed but not surprised at the bill being shot down. However:
1. I’d rather this matter be handled by Congress instead of EOs that just get repealed in the next Administration.
2. Nothing stops any Congresscritter from submitting this every day until it passes. Dems do that all the time when they aren’t in power.
Humility says: It’s almost as if their goal is to hurt us.

To be a liberal in good standing today, you have to believe:
1) U.S. energy production is evil and destroying the environment, but OK if produced elsewhere in the world;
2) A man with a penis can be a woman if he “feels” like a woman;
3) China is our friend;
4) Islam is the religion of “peace”;
5) Mohammed, an admitted mass murderer, pedophile, and adulterer, is the shining model to which we should all
ascribe to emulate;
6) Deficit spending can continue forever without consequences unless you are an American taxpayer subject to
the law;
7) Joe Biden was elected;
8) 2+2=5
9) American taxpayers are sheep to be sheared;
10) American taxpayers have over 40% of privately owned firearms in the world and will never rise up against the
elites robbing us of our savings and life’s work,
