Don Lemon, and a whole host of liberal media talking heads and Democrats believe the 1st Amendment gives him every right to be a “journalist.” The parishioners at Cities Church who were exercising their 1st Amendment right to freedom of religion don’t count according to their liberal betters.
There was a court hearing yesterday afternoon, after his arrest. Evidently, according to Don himself, Karen Bass showed up in the courtroom in support of the Lemonhead. That said, the judge freed him on his own recognizance. AND Lemon will get to jaunt off to Europe or wherever at some point in May.
A defiant Don Lemon vowed to fight the charges brought against him by federal prosecutors Friday, after he and another independent journalist were arrested in connection with a protest at a church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
“I have spent my entire career covering the news – I will not stop now,” Lemon said outside the federal courthouse in Los Angeles on Friday after being released from custody. “In fact, there is no more important time than right now, this very moment, for a free and independent media that shines a light on the truth and holds those in power accountable.”
Lemon and independent journalist Georgia Fort were livestreaming as dozens of anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protestors rushed into Cities Church on January 18, interrupting a church service and leading to tense confrontations.
Federal prosecutors alleged the journalists participated in a “takeover-style attack” of the church and intimidated congregants.
So, according to the media, it’s only speculation that Don Lemon and his merry band of rabid agitators went into Cities Church, disrupted the services, intimidated church goers, and traumatized children.
Except he and the rest of the jackasses did do all those things. How do we know? Don Lemon videoed it ALL from start to finish and uploaded it to his YouTube page.
He’s going to try to use the ‘I’m just here as a journalist to document everything’ as his excuse. Except that he himself refused to leave the church when asked. And witness testimony shows that he was an impediment to families leaving the church.
Tons of Democrats have been all over social media since yesterday afternoon yammering about how Lemonhead’s arrest is harmful to (d)emocracy and suppresses freedom of the press. Pots, meet ALL the kettles.

And yet, all the usual suspects who celebrated President Trump’s banishment from the old Twitter while also saying nothing when James O-Keefe’s offices were raided are hot footing it to Don’s defense.
The group Human Rights Campaign organized a rally outside the Edward R. Roybal federal courthouse in downtown Los Angeles where proceedings for Lemon took place on Friday.
Speaking outside court, board member Todd Hawkins decried Lemon’s arrest and prosecution.
“When journalists can be detained for covering protests, none of us are safe,” he said. “Punish the press, ignore the dead, dare the public to look away. We will not look away.”
Do you know what is interesting? While CNN is essentially going to bat for their former employee, it seems others in the media are staying pretty darned silent.
Do not underestimate how much they are pissed off at him, of all people, to cross the protesting in a church line, and not someone who they can defend as more credible.

They only get this card once, and it's gone because of disgraced alleged harasser they all can't stand. https://t.co/FissLc8at9
Or, if they are issuing statements, they are leaving the relevant information out. What info would that be? That Don and his protesting pals invaded a CHURCH and disrupted services.
Don Lemon was arrested AFTER a grand jury hearing. The indictment was unsealed yesterday afternoon as well. And boy howdy, Lemonhead has problems.
He along with quite a number of others have been charged under three specific acts. 18 U.S.C. § 241 (aka the Klan Act), 18 U.S.C. § 248 (FACE Act) and 18 U.S.C. § 2.
The first one – the Klan act is specific in that it’s against the law to use intimidation, threats, and/or violence to intimidate others. The second is the FACE Act. That act very clearly states that impeding one’s ability to worship in their church is against the law.
What the indictment shows is Don Lemon was fully aware of what was planned.
Yep. And he kissed her on the cheek at the start of his interview with her. Normal journalist behavior. https://t.co/37Thh4NAd2 https://t.co/2EfQqB7icv

Don Lemon inserted himself into the story and became the news. Yet he is so utterly oblivious to his own wrong-doing it’s comically funny and stupid at the same time.
Don Lemon wants to have it both ways. He wants to be a “journalist” and participate in the very fun protest agitations roiling the country. He’s astonished and bewildered that freedom of the press doesn’t give him absolute free reign to disrupt a church service, badger parishioners, and ignore requests to leave.
A woman broke her arm running away because they thought it might be a violent situation. People couldn’t get to the Sunday school rooms to get their kids. Children in the sanctuary were terrified.

Evan thinks that’s fine. Because of course he does. https://t.co/4dgKOjRv7Q
That is the issue. Don Lemon was front and center in all of that. He bears responsibility under the law.
So much of Lemon’s arrest is perfect. After several activist judges failed to do their duty, a grand jury of citizens indicted Don Lemon on a serious act, the terrorizing of children and others praying at church services.

So fitting that The People indicted Don Lemon.🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/gfmXvcvaRN
I’m just waiting for him to start whining once again about being a black gay man who is being persecuted for daring to be a journalist who plans to bring “truth” to the masses.
What Don doesn’t want to recognize is that his freedom of the press does NOT override Americans freedom of religion or speech. But that is the path he chose. He’ll happily set things on fire if it gets him the story he wants.

If Reverend Senator Warnock condemned the DL church incident I could not find it.
Bishop Patrick L. Wooden Sr, denounced and gave a warning from the pulpit to those who are thinking about coming into his ministry to disrupt.
It’s well past time for progressive church leaders to stop using the blood spilled during the civil rights era to justify the sex and death cults that have stolen and perverted the movement.
