DOGE Lives Another Day

As the winning continues, DOGE lives another day, as U.S. District Judge, Tanya Chutkan refused the request of 14 Democratic state attorneys to put restrictions upon the agency.

Chutkan, who made Trump’s life hell by presiding over Trump’s Russia-Russia-Russia federal election interference case, said that while there are “legitimate questions” surrounding Elon Musk’s authority within DOGE, there isn’t enough evidence to warrant a temporary restraining order.

DOGE’s unpredictable actions have resulted in considerable uncertainty and confusion.”-Tanya Chutkan

I’ll say. Democrats all over the place are crapping their pants more than Joe Biden did in his four years in office. And we’re not just talking about the 14 state attorneys from New Mexico, Arizona and other states who are looking to shut DOGE down before more fraud and abuse gets leaked to the American public. Anyone who put a “D” next to their voting preferences, taxpayers just like you and me, are upset that this abuse by government agencies is coming out of the darkness.

Nevertheless, the attorneys and those who like their taxpayer dollars pissed away, will just have to wait for that restraining order. After all, Chutkan does not believe that they, or anyone else would “suffer imminent, irreparable harm” (their words) without it.

Chutkan also stated that the court cannot act upon “widespread media reports”, and that these “widespread media reports” fueled by the talking heads of the media “do not serve as specific facts in an affidavit or a verified complaint”. (Snort.) In other words, the hysteria the media is providing surrounding DOGE is not a valid enough reason for these attorneys to file a complaint to shut the agency down. Therefore, DOGE lives another day to tell the tales from the salt mine of corruption.

What this all means? DOGE is still able to research the staffing and access data from the Departments of Education, Labor, Health and Human Services, Energy, Transportation, Commerce, and Office of Personnel Management as part of Trump’s campaign promise to slash the federal government.

After the denial of their request, these 14 state attorneys may as well bust into a campy song. Which side are you on, which side are you on, Tanya Chutkan?

“But so many people were fired from their jobs!”, say the lawyers. Though, these lawyers could not quantify the numbers of individuals who have been fired from their jobs in the hearing, nor could they provide the agencies they were attached to:

The firing of thousands of federal employees is not a small or common thing. You haven’t been able to confirm that? I think it will be very relevant to me to know whether thousands of federal employees have been terminated on Friday.”-Tanya Chutkan

To think, Judge Chutkan might actually care about following the law this time around?

While we are disappointed that the court declined to issue a temporary restraining order, we remain committed to putting an end to Elon Musk’s unlawful power grab. Every day that he is allowed to operate without a congressional mandate and with little apparent supervision, Musk is destabilizing our government and disrupting critical funding for education, public health and national security. His move fast and break things mentality is not only reckless, but also unconstitutional, and we are prepared to pursue this case for as long as it takes to bring this chaos to an end”.-New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez

Who helped fund your campaign again, Mr. Torrez? I feel the name George Soros being whispered here…

Yeah, take a seat, bruh. None of your voters had a problem with George or his son, Alex, for that matter when they voted you in.

Which side are you on? Which side are you on?

In truth, moving fast and breaking things may be the only solution for a system with budgeting and a workforce that has been severely broken for years. We are at a point in this juncture where “moving fast and breaking things” is necessary for our economy, fixing our deficit and our future as Americans. The Democrats are either unwilling to believe this or some, (mainly the public servants who became millionaires over the years) don’t want the pay-outs to end. These same people demand “transparency” from the Trump administration but when the administration provides such transparency such as they are with DOGE, they want to block this transparency in the courts. It’s actually quite amusing and maddening at the same time. “Elon Musk is an OUTSIDER!”, they cry. His power is going unchecked!

Time to trade in the Tesla or drive it off of a cliff or, be virtuous and sell it, donating proceeds to NPR ala Sheryl Crow.

All aboard! DOGE train chugs along the tracks another day. Which government agency will be next as the freighter barrels through? I feel the wheels coming off of another gravy train upon the trestle. Mmmmm. Gravy. Is that gravy? Or is it the tears of the bureaucracy? Either way, it’s delicious.

That’s the point. Though less of the uncertainty – because we are pretty dang certain we want them all fired.

Also… Chutkan? Really? Huh. Did not see that one coming.

Every day that he is allowed to operate without a congressional mandate and with little apparent supervision
Why does he need a “mandate” from Congress? It’s the Executive branch, and the boss can hire whom he sees fit. He’s committing an entirely internal executive function, so no need for an appointment at all.

Actually, DOGE does have a Congressional mandate. DOGE is a renaming of the U.S. Digital Service. President Obama got Congress to create the USDS so there would be an agency to improve the efficiency of federal agencies using up-to-date cyber technology. President Biden got Congress to change the hiring and HR requirements for the USDS so make them much more streamlined. These were points of pride for the USDS. See https://www.usds.gov/ . All President Trump did was change the name and bring in someone to run the agency who understands cyber technology and how it can be used to bring efficiency to agencies’ operations – which is what Congress mandated.
