Holy Hades, where have I been? The Department of Defense under Trump 2.0 has cancelled the Women, Peace & Security Program first enacted under Trump 1.0 and I had never heard of it until it got shitcanned, er I mean, dumped. Women are half of the population and unless they are included in every part of the decision making that goes into ensuring the peace and security of a nation, state or organization it is not real or lasting…or something like that. These people have way too much time on their hand. If you, like me, had never heard of this, let us take a look at the United Nations public relations hand out.
Straight from the United Nations website:
We work to ensure women’s priorities are central to peace and security decisions at all levels. To achieve this goal, we address social, cultural and political barriers and protection risks that limit women’s full participation in achieving and sustaining peace.
Women around the world play a critical role in preventing conflict, building peace and helping countries recover during crises, often putting their own lives at risk. Despite this, women largely remain at the periphery of formal peace processes and decision-making.
Our priority is to change the status quo by putting women’s priorities and rights at the heart of peace and political processes and to achieve gender equality in peacekeeping operations. We work with partners, including civil society and communities, to address social, cultural and political barriers and protection risks that limit the full participation of women.
The Department of Peace Operations (DPO) is at the forefront of advancing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. We are mandated by the UN Security Council to implement WPS Resolutions, which recognize the disproportionate and unique impact of armed conflict on women and girls and acknowledge the contributions they make to conflict prevention and resolution, peacekeeping and peacebuilding. Further, the Security Council highlights the importance of the equal and full participation of women as active agents in peace and security and addresses the impact of sexual violence in conflicts.
Um, yea right, the United Nations has never met a despot, thug or dictator that it didn’t want to come join the parade. The concept that the United Nations cares about women is absurd. Iran, for instance, is on the Human Rights Council and is a huge human rights violator. Donald Trump signed the Women, Peace and Security Act put forward by Jan Schakowsky and Kristi Noem and backed by Ivanka Trump and Mike Pompeo. And, now, there are lots of twisted knickers out there because women are left out of the process, oh my. From Roll Call:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday abruptly canceled the Pentagon’s Women, Peace & Security (WPS) program, an initiative signed into law by President Donald Trump during his first term and touted by his first administration as a sign of its commitment to women’s empowerment.
The program was born out of the law known as the Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2017, legislation sponsored by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., and co-sponsored by Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., that sought to promote the participation of women in mediation and negotiation processes to resolve violent conflict.
In a statement, Shaheen noted that members of Trump’s cabinet were integral to the bill’s success. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, then the Republican at-large representative from South Dakota, was the sponsor of the bill in the House and Secretary of State Marco Rubio was an original co-sponsor in the Senate. And though not involved in writing the legislation, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz formerly chaired the House WPS caucus.
“This follows a dangerous and disturbing pattern from the Secretary, who clearly does not listen to advice from senior military leaders. He also continues to ignore the invaluable role women play in our national security. It’s startling that just because the word ‘women’ is in the title, this evidence-based security program has been reduced to a DEI program,” Shaheen said in a statement.
Senate Armed Services Committee ranking member Jack Reed, D-R.I., said that canceling that program was another “major faux pas” by Hegseth, who “doesn’t know where the program came from and obviously didn’t investigate anything.”
Well, the WPS bipartisan legislation that mandated our country to develop a comprehensive strategy to increase and strengthen women’s participation in peace negotiations and conflict prevention. It required the President to submit a government-wide “Women, Peace, and Security Strategy” within one year of enactment and again four years later, detailing how the U.S. will promote women’s involvement in these areas. The Act aims to ensure that women have a meaningful role in mediation and negotiation processes to prevent and resolve violent conflict. And, it’s now well more than four years later and it’s time to see if this legislation has done anything meaningful for our country. That’s part of our problem: Once enacted programs go on forever even when they don’t work.
Senator Jeanne Shaheen is delusional if she thinks that our ability “to engage women” gives us anything over the Chinese. Those combatant commanders flat out lied to her.
What evidence, where, Hillary?
There's strong evidence that women's participation in security efforts makes countries safer.
That's why leaders in over 100 countries have taken action to further it.
One of them—who signed the U.S. Women, Peace & Security Act into law in 2017—was Donald Trump. pic.twitter.com/iIONqUgXmj

Time to stop with the bull scat. If Women, Peace & Strength has concrete and numerable benefits let’s lay them out. If not then let’s shitcan it. We are broke, if you didn’t know.
By the way, women are not all that peaceful; they are vicious.

All too many women that I have known, the nukes would start a’flyin. Over the one across the table wearing THEIR dress.
Addendum – it is past time to revert the name to the Department of War.
Not peace. Peace is the province of the State Department. (Which, in my opinion, Foggy Bottom has started and drawn out more wars than any of the denizens of the Puzzle Palace.)
We haven’t won a war since we renamed it to the department of defense.
The department of peace is a UN entity.
The level of unmitigated gall and hypocrisy of Felonia von Pantsuit cannot be overstated. That this rancid bitch who left men in Benghazi to be attacked and die can spew BS about “women” like this is a new low.
Yeah, sure, some “women’s participation in security efforts makes countries safer”, but it sure as heck isn’t HER participation.
