DJT 2.0 Confirmations – Pete Hegseth For Secretary Of Defense

This week will begin the Senate Confirmation Hearings for President Donald Trump 2.0. The first time around even the Republicans weren’t totally on Trump’s side. For 2.0, most of the Republican officials have gotten the message from the voters. Loud and clear. Will the Democrats pitch fits over confirming the nominees? We shall find out soon. One of the first up is Pete Hegseth beginning January 14, 2025.

Democrats, Permanent D.C. Establishment and the Military Industrial Complex all have the knickers in a knot about Hegseth’s personal foibles and his qualifications. He, shock and horror, never made General. What? He’s not one of the Perfumed Princes of the Pentagon (Thank you wherever you are, Colonel Hackworth.) Heaven forbid! As our Carol wrote last week, Elizabeth Warren wrote to the Hegseth opining that one of his tattoos made him an insider threat. There is the Code Pinkers (like Medea Benjamin) who worry that Hegseth is a Christian Nationalist Islamophobe. Holy Smokes!

The batshit crazy crone Benjamin needs to stay in Berkeley, California. Then, there is John Fund of the National Review. He doesn’t like Pete Hegseth. Fund’s sphincter is so tight, he probably poops tungsten. Fund wrote:

An issue that arose during the consideration of Hegseth to head the VA in 2018 was the possibility that he could be vulnerable to blackmail. Ever since President Dwight Eisenhower signed Executive Order 10450 (which was, ironically, strengthened by President Bill Clinton in 1997), anyone who shows “vulnerability to exploitation and coercion” is barred from sensitive national security positions. Hegseth is a walking demonstration of why that prohibition exists. He was asked by Megyn Kelly why he gave a woman who was accusing him of sexual assault a payout and then insisted that she sign a nondisclosure agreement (an agreement he later concealed from the Trump transition team). Hegseth responded:

I paid her because I had to — or at least I thought I did at the time. I had a great job at Fox and a wonderful marriage. . . . It is not what I should have done, but I did it to protect that. I did it to protect my wife, I did it to protect my family, and I did it to protect my job. It was a negotiation purely to try to prevent that.

Yipes Stripes! That shows morally questionable decision making. On the other hand, General Petraeus was playing reindeer games with his biographer. Nobody questioned his morals until he got caught. He made it higher up the Officer Ranks. Shame on the Pentagon! Senator Jack Reed from Rhode Island has questions about Hegseth. Reed is of another generation. He is 75. He has an impressive resume:

Reed graduated from La Salle Academy and the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971. After graduating, he spent several years in active duty military service. Reed earned the Ranger Tab and was a paratrooper. He served as a paratrooper in the 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division where he was a platoon leader, company commander and battalion staff officer.

Hopefully, Reed has real questions and isn’t just being a typical Democrat Hack! This makes it sound like Reed is a hack. Smiles to Hegseth’s face and then shivs him in the back.

Hack!

Derrick Von Orden is currently a Wisconsin Congressman and former Navy Seal. He can be very scary. In the movie Act of Valor, he plays a Navy interrogator and is scary as shit.

And, a soldier who served with Pete Hegseth wrote this in Newsweek:

Hegseth’s loyalty to those with whom he served remains steadfast years after our deployment. He maintains connections through unit reunions and personal friendships, while using his public platform to champion veterans, warfighters, and their families. His dedication to service members has never faltered.

In an era when so many in Washington seem detached from the realities of military service, Pete Hegseth’s firsthand experience and unshakable commitment to our armed forces stands out as invaluable.

Those who have worked with him, as I have, know his leadership is not simply inspiring—it’s contagious. I credit him, in part, for my decision to transition from the Army National Guard to active duty, where I continued to serve in operational and combat assignments worldwide. His example demonstrated true leadership and purposeful service, leaving an indelible mark on countless patriots who served alongside him.

I hope the Democrats straighten up and fly right. We need Hegseth. I don’t know whether he’s found religion or not but I hope he has grown up. Our military needs him.

The opinion of anyone who uses the made up word “islamaphobe” or the phrase “Christian Nationalist” can be safely disregarded.

And since it’s Medea Benjamin, it can be ignored even if she didn’t use those words.

I will never understand how someone with a military resume like Reed does can be a demonrat.. it would seem that the attitude and mindset required to be a Ranger / Airborne is diametrically opposed to being a leftist shitbag..
