Democrats Want January 6th Enshrined Forever

Democrats want January 6th enshrined forever. They want to create a memorial that will reside in the Capitol so they can remember the event forever and ever. Via taxpayer dollars, I’m sure.

The Capitol Remembrance Act was introduced by Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo. and Rep. Susan Wild, D-Pa. in March of 2021, but no hearings or votes happened during that time.

The Democrat from Pennsylvania stated,

The bill honors those who protected American democracy, some of whom with their lives, and to ensure future generations never forget that our democracy is only as strong as our commitment to it. – Story by Peter Kasperowicz

Never forget, oh, that’s rich. But Ms. Wild wants a constant “warning” to Americans to shut their piehole. Don’t you ever disagree with Democrats, ever, or else.

“The insurrection of January 6th brought an end to that unbroken transition and must be remembered as a warning to Americans as to what happens when violent, anti-democratic rhetoric is given a platform.”

Okay, first of all, that was not an insurrection. But the word insurrection sounds scary, doesn’t it? It is known that the media and Democrats love to spin a yarn, do they not?

Well, if they can get this Tribute built and include all of the memorabilia, hopefully, they will show ALL of the footage from that day.

What will be included in this souvenir installation?

The Capitol Remembrance Act directs the Architect of the Capitol to install an educational exhibit in the U.S. Capitol that would include:

  • A plaque honoring law enforcement agencies that participated in protecting the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021; the sacrifice of heroes including U.S. Capitol Police Officers Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood, Metropolitan Police Department Officer Jeffrey Smith, and those who sustained injuries; and the Capitol staff that helped restore the Capitol complex after the attack;
  • The preservation of property damaged during the attack on the U.S. Capitol; and
  • The inclusion of existing photographs and/or the commissioning of a new painting depicting the attack. – Crow.House.Gov

I wonder if they would also give a salute for one Lt. Michael Byrd, who was in the Capitol that day? He says he was doing his job when he shot and killed Ashli Babbitt. Democrats would probably like to erect a 50-foot statue of him.

They want to include existing photographs in the exhibit. How about the 14,000 hours of video footage?

During a press conference, the new Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, vowed to get all of the footage from that day released to the public, all 14,000 hours of it.

“I think the public should see what happened on that day. I watched what Nancy Pelosi did, where she politicized it. Where, for the first time in the history as a speaker, not allowing the minority to appoint to a committee, to pick and choose,” he told reporters. “We watched the politicization of this. I think the American public should actually see all what happened instead of a report that’s written for a political basis.” – TownHall.com

I watched Kevin McCarthy give his press conference last Thursday from his favorite place in the Capitol building, National Statuary Hall. I must admit, I was pretty impressed.

At first, I was not a fan of Kevin McCarthy becoming a Speaker. However, I have become a little hopeful after watching this press conference.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla, is also optimistic.

So many questions

How would they release the 14,000 hours? Could they do a streaming service, breaking the 14,000 hours into a mini-series? That would be a long mini-series.

Would you be willing to sit through 14,000 hours of people milling about and parading inside the Capitol building? I might. I’d have to take it in chunks, though. And they have a lot of different cameras in different parts of the Capitol; how would they provide the viewing to the public? Could they get Kevin Costner to narrate it?

Whenever and however they release all of the video coverage of January 6th, I think they should simply call it “14000 hours.”

I’ll wait til McCarthy actually accomplishes anything before I celebrate him.

He’ll bend the knee in the name of compromise but in the interest of personal gain.

As far as democracy being threatened, federal sites are much more appropriate targets for dissenters than the private location with a flatscreen in the window.

I do not trust RINO McCarthy and I doubt he will ever change that. RINOs often talk like a patriot; and then they sit on their hands while their supposedly beloved Republic is being destroyed.
And Democracies never worked. The USA is a Constitutional Republic with the emphasis on The Constitution. We should fight to get back to it.
