Just imagine the freakout by Democrats if Jay Jones, candidate for Virginia attorney general, was a Republican.

Calling for the murder of a politican rival – and that political rival’s CHILDREN? There would be screams of outrage, marches in the streets, and demands that Jones step down. That is, if he were a Republican. But because he has a “D” after his name, the Democrats that are either commenting or invested in the Virginia statewide races are doing one of two things. Either the comments – which are grossly demented – are being significantly downplayed, or they are being outright ignored as some attempt to stealth delete their previous support.

Let’s start with the Virginia Democrats who are trying to persuade voters to still vote for Jones. This is how they are rationalizing their continued support.

“Virginia Beach, VA – The Virginia Beach Democratic Committee (VBDC) reaffirms its full support of Jay Jones for Attorney General. We are lined up, ten toes down—ready to organize, mobilize, and deliver voters for Jay and our entire Democratic ticket.

Recent press may have spotlighted past mistakes. We say, let those without sin cast the first stone. Jay Jones has taken responsibility, apologized, and shown he is committed to serving with integrity and accountability that his public record already shows. Virginians deserve a leader who learns, grows, and stands for everyday people—and Jay is that leader.

Jay Jones is a stark contrast to Jason Miyares in every way. In his tenure, Miyares has failed to stand up for Virginia families’ concerns or values. He has not defended women’s reproductive rights, workers rights or protected the hundreds of thousands of Virginians who are on the verge of losing access to their healthcare benefits and service providers.

The VBDC is calling on all Virginians to line up behind Jay Jones. Together, in November we will defend democracy, and secure leadership in the Attorney General’s office that truly serves all the people of Virginia.”

Accountability? Jones is still acting like this somehow just spontaneously happened to him. After attempting to smear National Review as “Trump-controlled media” (proving he’s never read National Review), he then attempted a slightly more contrite written statement in which he says he takes “accountability.” What that accountability is, no one knows. Saying that you “take accountability” is NOT the same as actually accepting the consequences of your actions.

But if you listen to Democrat mouthpiece Neera Tanden, this was just a very bad “private conversation.”

Democrats have been all about using private conversations – recorded or alleged – against their political opponents for YEARS. This is why they still repeat Trump’s “pussy” comments and the unsubstantiated “suckers and losers” claim. Jay Jones didn’t just put his murderous wishcasting in writing in a text – he DOUBLED DOWN in a phone call to the same delegate. Call me crazy, but I think he really meant it, everyone.

But then there’s the teachers’ union endorsement – which they made, and then stealth deleted their post! They are still endorsing the whole Democrat ticket, though!

The monsters at the Virginia teachers union DELETED their post announcing they endorsed the guy who fantasized about SHOOTING the former Republican House Speaker.

They can no longer claim ignorance.

Everyone knows, Democrats included, that these comments were insanely bad, reflect poorly on the entire ticket, and if Jay Jones was a Republican, the Democrats would be using it to demand that Jones step down from the race. But since he is a Democrat, his fellow travelers will ignore the murderous intent and insist that Jason Miyares is so terrible that they have to support the guy who wanted children murdered to advance his political goals.

The Virginia races are in the process of being turned upside down, and gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears (who we have supported on this blog for a long time) knows it.

This ad needs to be shared and tweeted and aired all over Virginia until Election Day. Don’t let the Democrats forget who they chose to support – and don’t let voters forget that Democrats think this kind of assassination fantasy is okay, so long as their guy votes the way they want.
