Dear White Parents, Stop Caring About Your Children

Dear White Parents, Stop Caring About Your Children

Dear White Parents, Stop Caring About Your Children

Wokeistan’s premiere propaganda organ, The New York Times, would like all you white parents to stop thinking about what’s best for your children. Really, don’t you know how RAAAACIST that is?

Writer Clara Totenberg Green, described as a social and emotional learning specialist in Atlanta Public Schools, starts out noting the numerous school districts who have decided to keep schools closed, ostensibly because of covid19, and how parents are responding with forming small support groups among themselves. These groups, dubbed “Pandemic Pods”, are ad hoc responses to what many parents considered substandard instruction when schools closed over four months ago.

There is more than one type of pod being discussed within the groups. Some parents are considering remote learning pods that supervise a group of students doing assigned work or attending virtual class, others are looking to share caregivers for babies and toddlers, and some pods are centered strictly around organizing regular playdates a few hours a day or week.

This kind of parental organization in support of kids’ interests is nothing new regardless of the New! Improved! labeling. Whether it was for playdates or sports or school projects, parents sharing responsibility for a small group of kids is not new. However, it looks like it’s the usual teachers unions professionals that have their panties in a knot.

The trend that has drawn the most alarm among educators, however, is microschooling, where parents hire a private teacher or caregiver to teach a curriculum or tutor a group of children.

OHNOES! The horror of TUTORING! by a PRIVATE TEACHER!!

At this point, most parents would either ignore such educators or tell them to go pound sand. Parents who have watched their kids educational chops atrophy in the spring are not going to stand around with their fingers up their nose waiting for the educators to continue the lameness. Especially since so many of them are using the students as human shields.

What Ms. Green does is up the ante by pulling out the race card.

At face value, learning pods seem a necessary solution to the current crisis. But in practice, they will exacerbate inequities, racial segregation and the opportunity gap within schools. […]

For parents who need to work and can’t supervise their children’s learning, joining a pod may feel like the only way they can educate their kids and keep their jobs.

Based on what I’ve seen online, the learning pod movement appears to be led by families with means, a large portion of whom are white. Paradoxically, at a time when the Black Lives Matter movement has prompted a national reckoning with white supremacy, white parents are again ignoring racial and class inequality when it comes to educating their children. As a result, they are actively replicating the systems that many of them say they want to dismantle.

Wait, what? Parents doing what they can to meet their children’s needs and have the audacity to want to keep their jobs are acting racist?

When people choose members of their pod, they will choose people they know and trust.

The BASTARDS!

Ms. Green then tries the White Guilt dance that wypipo don’t socialize with enough Magic Negroes so their groups will be just little KKK gatherings reinforcing Systemic White Supremacy.

You can almost hear Ms. Green’s deep-chest sighs right through the computer screen. Not that she has any clue what White Parents are supposed to do to avoid their racey racey racist ways.

Many will read this article and ask what they’re supposed to do instead. I don’t have the answer.

Ya think?

Whatever parents ultimately decide, they must understand that every choice they make in their child’s education, even the seemingly benign, has the potential to perpetuate racial inequities rooted in white supremacy.

Oh shut the fuck up, Clara. Don’t you dare blame the sorry state of traditional public schools on white parents when you and the rest of the public traditional school cabal are invested in keeping minorities from succeeding.

This is as stupid and evil as when white parents were told to feel guilty and racist for reading to their own children.

My suggestion? #DefundPublicSchools, take those budgets and issue them to parents as vouchers.

Isn’t it interesting how some people see everything as being related to race… if only there was a name for such people.. I don’t know, maybe RACIST!!!

  • NIna says:

Doing your best to keep children interested, engaged, and LEARNING is racist…if you are white. Essentially, according to the “logic” of Clara Totenberg Green, education is best if only served through the lens of anyone who is NOT white.

Hard pass Clara. Super hard pass.

I had a kid who could read entire books and loved it at the age of 3-1/2. By middle school they had beaten the love of reading out of him by forcing him to read total garbage by convicted rapists and transsexual perverts. Not regular transsexuals. The pedophile ones. Now he hates reading at all. I will NEVER forgive the bastards.

No, these concerned and caring parents are doing the very best for their children as is their duty as parents. If other parents cannot be bothered to try to educate their children that omission is on them.

Yes. Apportion Federal money in each school district per student.
    Decriminalize school truancy.
( That last sentence has been typed by this author it autofills on my phone.)
I am the only White male working in my building. When asked how I’m doing I sometimes say ” I’m rocking and rolling. You know what comes next.” The other party says “what?”
I say ” I’m rocking and rolling and groving to the music. Play that funky music white boy, play that funky I right, lay down and boogie and boogie til you die.”
A scold from HR informed me some would think that was racist and sexist.
    I say, “Piss off”.

So if you haven’t had the pleasure of spending time around people who think this way, let me point out something that will give you a clue as to their character and mindset. You will hear the following CONSTANTLY…

white parents are [ SPURIOUS GENERALIZATION ] when it comes to [ FALSE DILEMMA ]. As a result, they are [
UNSUPPORTED ACCUSATION ] that many of them [ FRAMING OF GUILT ] .

That’s what they do. They don’t try to find solutions or apply themselves to actually remedying a situation. Their whole ‘morality’ is about casting blame and posing as an enlightened figure. That’s really the core of Progressivism, it’s ideology is largely just a cluster of emotional manipulations intended to establish them as morally superior to other people in order to subordinate and control them. They’re not really interested in solving anything because they would make them accountable for the outcomes. So the few concrete policies they do pursue either benefit them directly ( e.g. student loan debt forgiveness ) or demoralize people to, again, subordinate and control them ( e.g. ‘equity’ policies).

Why does she assume that only white parents will work with each other to be sure their kids are cared for and educated? It seems to me that a lot of black parents make substantial efforts to help their kids get a good education, and they certainly turn to family and friends to make sure they have childcare when they are working. If the federal money for education went to the student instead of the school, many of these parents would have more financial resources they could use to eliminate persistent educational disparities. There is virtually no disparity between black and white homeschoolers, so obviously black parents are able to effectively educate their own kids. Black kids do well in charter schools also. It seems like the “pod” parents are doing a good job of dismantling the public school systems that continue to produce significant racial disparities in educational opportunities and outcomes. I hope they lead the way for others so that ALL of our kids can get a good education.

    • Scott says:

“Why does she assume that only white parents will work with each other to be sure their kids are cared for and educated? “.. That’s an easy one, it’s because she’s RACIST!

” It seems like the “pod” parents are doing a good job of dismantling the public school systems that continue to produce significant racial disparities in educational opportunities and outcomes.”… And that right there is why they must be destroyed! Public schools are about nothing but indoctrination, re-writing history, intentionally fomenting racial division, and creating an easily manipulated block of supporters.

  • John C. Randolph says:

The guilt-peddling twat who wrote this screed is an example of the waste of public school funds on worthless deadweight apparatchiki. She should be bounced off the taxpayers’ teat and left to fend for herself in the real economy. I wonder how her nagging and haranguing skills will serve her in the food service industry?

  • Kevin says:

jcr – unlikely. I think her mom is a Harvard graduate and federal judge in Atlanta, and her Aunt Nina is legal affairs correspondent for NPR. A girl of white-Jewish privilege.

  • Micha Elyi says:

    (No potty-mouth please, Darleen Click.)

“Social Emotional Learning Coach” is Ms. Clara Totenberg Green’s self-description on her LinkedIn page. Atlanta Public Schools wasted good money by hiring her. Remember, as Glenn Reynolds has repeatedly written, that sending ones child to public school may be a form of child abuse. The poorer the objectively measureable educational outcomes of children become, the more the State’s schools and their unionized employees insist on an ever larger number of programs whose results cannot be objectively measured.

This is yet another reason why separation of School from State is both principled and the only practical way forward for America.

  • Yan Tan Tethera says:

“Fellow white people”. Every single time.

  • Mike says:

    “No” to vouchers.

If DC takes a dollar from you, they will keep a percentage for processing and handling, and ship you back a voucher worth 90 cents, or less.

Close the schools and let the parents keep ALL the tax money.

  • Phil Brown says:

Interesting that she uses her argument to criticize a natural response by parents to school closings, but not to the apparently endless continuation of school closings, or to a situation in which students from poor families especially are essentially chained to bad public schools. Gee, maybe greater access to charter schools or provision of school vouchers could enable children from needy families to obtain higher quality education.

  • Flowerplough says:

Years ago a NYT pre-Dowd named Anna Quindlen wrote, apparently seriously, something about kids, docs, and AIDS, saying that we shouldn’t fear gay dentists, and if her kids’ pediatrician was diagnosed HIV+, she would make sure the doc made sure to always wear gloves and also promised to be really careful.

  • oldguy says:

Years ago when I was in college in NYC most of the teachers were telling us we should send our children to those failing public schools in poor neighborhoods because that would help them raise up and help all the students. When asked if they sent their kids to such schools the answer was usually a non-answer if any was given at all. it was all -Sacrifice your kids but mine don;t even think about it.

    • Mean girl says:

“Those people” are no longer having children.

I wished they’d just just eff off already.

People without children have no investment in the future. Their opinions should not be considered.

  • […] Stop caring about your children. […]

  • George V says:

What strikes me about the screed published in the NYT is that the author would probably nod in serious agreement when reading “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child” by St. Hillary the 1st (and hopefully last!) but is aghast when a group of parents living in close proximity band together to raise their children.

One wonders why her head does not spontaneously disintegrate.

  • David Longfellow says:

It isn’t my problem if some people don’t give a shit about their own children’s well-being and don’t put their children’s best interests first.
Those people are the problem – their views are not anything to pay credence to.

Interesting…these people have zero ability to read history. If they had, they would easily see the correlations between 1939 Germany-austria situation and the situation in the USA. nope, not gonna do it. Not gonna let my child turn into a BLM or ANTIFA Youth. I will educate my child, as I see fit, how I see fit, and it is much easier now, seeing as COVIDBLMANTIFA have all made it possible to keep my child out of Government forced Indoctrination camp. I saw the writing 20 years ago, and that’s only because it was my HS graduation time frame and the problem was already happening several decades prior to that.

These are pages out of several older play books, and I refuse to allow government to force my child into repeating history- again.

I will DIE by the direct hand of government before I allow them to conquer her future.

    Smh.

“No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.”
    Samuel Adams

  • Charley says:

There is the Harrison Bergeron solution.
The story was written by Kurt Vonnegut and published as science fiction in 1961.
Having a two parent family with parents who have an interest in the education of their children is certainly not White privilege. However it seems that there are some who would like to prohibit that long successful family type from existing.

Will we next see suggestions for partial lobotomies at birth to limit everyone to the language competence of a rpper?
