Late Wednesday night in Washington DC, two Israeli Embassy staffers were murdered in cold blood, and others wounded, by a gunman who allegedly yelled “free Palestine” after shooting them.
Why? Because they were attending an event at the Capital Jewish Museum, and because this is the natural end of well over a year of marches and protests and violence and screams for the “intifada” on college campuses and in large cities across the globe. The end result was always going to be domestic terrorism. The far left has embraced murder as an acceptable tool to get what they want – witness the reaction to the murder of Brian Thompson, allegedly by Luigi Mangione. Mangione pleads not guilty to murder, while his fan club online and waving signs on his behalf insists that not only did he commit the crime, it was a justifiable GOOD. We have seen spoiled Hamas LARPers don keffiyehs and masks and storm college buildings, all to “free Palestine.” This is the sick and twisted conclusion to all the violent rhetoric. Eventually, someone will act on it, and innocents are murdered.
What did you think globalize the intifada meant? vibes? papers? essays? https://t.co/kM3pLxniok

And now two young Israelis are dead in Washington DC.
The attack came outside the Young Diplomats Reception 2025 hosted for young Jewish professionals by the American Jewish Committee, and two staffers were shot at close range, according to a spokesperson for the Israeli embassy.
D.C. police chief Pamela Smith said that both victims died on the scene after being shot by 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, who is now in custody.
“The suspect chanted free, free Palestine while in custody,” Smith said. “The suspect is 30-year-year Elias Rodriguez of Chicago.”

A press conference was held by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, which had several federal officials in attendance, including Attorney General Pam Bondi.
“There is no active threat,” D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said during the press conference at the Metropolitan Police Department.
“I want to be clear that we will not tolerate this violence or hate in our city. We will not tolerate any acts of terrorism, and we’re going to stand together as a community in the coming days and weeks to send a clear message that we will not tolerate anti-Semitism.”
The two victims had been exiting the event at the museum when the incident occurred, officials confirmed.
“The couple that was gunned down tonight were about to be engaged,” Israeli ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter said at the press conference. “The young man purchased a ring this week with the intention of proposing next week in Jerusalem.”
The couple has not been formally identified by the Israeli Embassy yet, though pictures and names are circulating around on social media. The suspect, who has been identified by authorities, apparently has a long history of radical activism.
“If you’re part of a system they don’t agree with, they will justify violence against you. That’s what the weekly pro-terror marches in NYC are really about.”

Did the suspect come all the way from Chicago to Washington DC to commit domestic terrorism? Why this event – which was actually discussing humanitarian outreach?
Yoni Kalin and Katie Kalisher were inside the museum when they heard gunshots and a man came inside looking distressed, they said. Kalin said people came to his aid and brought him water, thinking he needed help, without realizing he was the suspect. When police arrived, he pulled out a red keffiyeh and repeatedly yelled, “Free Palestine,’” Kalin said.
“This event was about humanitarian aid,” Kalin said. “How can we actually help both the people in Gaza and the people in Israel? How can we bring together Muslims and Jews and Christians to work together to actually help innocent people? And then here he is just murdering two people in cold blood.”
Fortunately, because this crime occured within Washington DC, it will be handled in the federal courts, prosecuted by new interim US Attorney Jeanine Pirro. President Trump has also weighed in via Truth Social.
“These horrible D.C. killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW!” President Donald Trump posted on social media early Thursday. “Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the USA. Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen! God Bless You ALL!’
What happens now? The usual, says John Podhoretz.
What we’re going to see over the next couple of days is predictable. Jewish institutions are going to scramble to increase security, as Jews huddle together for comfort. And as the hours and days pass, the shooting will be analyzed by the mainstream with an eye toward “explaining” the root causes of the crime and the criminal’s motivations—which is to say, a search for a way to excuse. We’ll hear that the real danger in the wake of this monstrous act will be a rise in Islamophobia rather than that this event is the culmination of the past 18 months of open anti-Semitic and Jew-hating action in the streets of major cities and on the campuses of our most prestigious academic institutions.
And we Jews will be arming ourselves.
Thank God the Trump Department of Justice is in charge of prosecuting this case, because I feel fairly confident that every charge possible, from domestic terrorism to first degree murder to a hate crime is about to be slapped on the suspect. But what about the festering ugly subculture of anti-Semitism that lives on college campuses, so that Columbia University’s interim president feels like she has to throw a sop to Mahmoud Khalil during commencement, even while students are busy ripping and burning their newly-issued diplomas outside? They were chanting “free Palestine” there, too. What about the rhetoric used by Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, or dumbshits like Rachel Zegler?
Every single person who has ever defended Hamas or chanted “free Palestine” or called for a global intifada should be asked if the cold-blooded murder of two Israeli Embassy staffers, a young couple looking to start a life together, is okay with them. And if they run away or dodge the question, or say anything other than “no” – that should tell you everything you need to know about them. We are seeing a continual justification of violence, and for far too many people, gunning someone down on the street is apparently an acceptable form of protest. There is a serious problem in Western society right now, and it won’t stop until there are real consequences for calling for violence.

I read elsewhere the woman murdered was an American citizen. Her soon-to-be fiancé was Israeli.
This is the result of rampant antisemitism in the democrat party, among the left , and excused and promoted by nearly all of the media. It is prominent in academia as well. The response to these vermin should be in kind. Don’t mind the mess, they have earned it, every one of them. Retribution should be applied, liberally.
