Ilhan Omar the Congressional Representative for Minnesota by way of Mogadishu wants you to know that a ceasefire is not enough. Israel must be held to account for “every war crime” committed. From her point of view, the Palestinians have committed no war crimes. Ilhan Omar is audacious, to say the least.

In 2020, Ilhan Omar was voted the anti-Semite of the year for 2019, and for good reason. From the Jerusalem Post, here are some of her low-lights:

1. Accusing American Jewry of possessing dual loyalty.
2. Alleging that Jews buy their influence with money, infamously stating “It’s all about the Benjamins.”
3. Accusing Israel of having hypnotized the world.
4. Supporting the antisemitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel.
5. Submitting a resolution in the House of Representatives comparing boycotting Israel to boycotting the Nazis.
6. Having her antisemitic statements endorsed by infamous neo-Nazi David Duke.

You want to talk about divided loyalties? Ilhan Omar’s hatred for Israel is far greater than her love for the country that took her in for a refugee, granted her citizenship and voted her to represent some of its citizens in Congress.

With her all-consuming hatred for Israel the country and Jews as a people, it’s not surprising the Omar cannot see the Palestine is complicit in the deaths of her people. There would have been no need for a ceasefire if Hamas in Gaza had not lobbed the first missile.

The excuse for this latest attack by Hamas is that Israel cut the speakers in the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem as Benjamin Netayahanu was giving a Freedom Day speech. The Israelis worried that listeners wouldn’t be able to hear the speech over the call to prayer. Civilized people do not bomb another country over that.

Hamas is not a civilized group. Hamas has been designated as a terror group since 1997. The group propagates a culture of death. When Israel warns Hamas and the Palestinians of an imminent attack, Hamas says “go ahead and kill us”.

Ilhan Omar says the ceasefire is not enough and Israel needs to be held to account. Account this, witch. From Fox News:

Rep. Ilhan Omar said Thursday she is happy a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas was agreed to after a week-and-a-half of fighting, but insisted there needs to be “accountability for every war crime committed.”

She also accused the U.S. of tacitly supporting those alleged crimes with its support for Israel.

“We should all be grateful that a ceasefire will prevent more civilians and children from being killed,” Omar, D-Minn., tweeted. “But now what? We need accountability for every war crime committed. And we need to stop underwriting crimes against humanity while doing nothing to end the occupation.”

Ilhan Omar is such a hate-filled bigot she cannot even acknowledge that Hamas puts military weapons and intelligence in residential and office buildings:

Bombing a school is a war crime. Bombing a hospital is a war crime. Bombing news outlets is a war crime. Firing rockets at civilians is *also* a war crime.

If we believe in human rights, we should hold anyone who commits war crimes fully accountable.

There is no doubt that Ilhan Omar is scarred by her childhood experience of war in Somalia. Omar is right in the video. The is not a war between two states. The nation-state of Israel was attacked by a designated terror group. If the Palestinians could elect real leaders maybe something could be negotiated where the West Bank and Gaza wouldn’t need to be occupied. Egypt and Jordan used to be the occupiers and now it is Israel. Palestinians were removed from their land, because they lost a war. That’s what happens in war. War is bad for everyone. Omar’s recounting of history is colored by her anti-Semitism.

There is nothing worthwhile in Ilhan Omar’s speech. She calls Benjamin Netanyahu an ethno-nationalist:

An ethno-nationalist education not only creates resistance to cultural and educational imposition by other groups; it also uses it positively to preserve and extend the particular ethnic group’s identifying characteristics. One way that ethno-nationalism is preserved in education is to use the ethnic “mother tongue” rather than the official national language in the classroom. Another way is to include the ethnic group’s literature, history, and traditions in the curriculum.

Sounds like teaching a common cultural heritage. I know that Omar meant it as another slur against a Jewish man, but it could be a could be a good or bad thing. Ilhan Omar is an ugly human being. I am talking about soul deep ugly. I am not even going to mention her ethical lapses.

The word in political circles is that Joe Biden is afraid of upsetting the Progressive Wing of the Democrat Party and may not send as much aid to Israel. Biden needs to shut these anti-Semites down. If they don’t start no stuff, won’t be know stuff. The ceasefire will hold until Hamas starts up again. And, if Ilhan wants to talk about crimes, then let’s go.
