Ceasefire Between Israel/Hamas Brokered By Egypt

Joe Biden came out last night and announced a deal for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. He acknowledged through his teleprompter that the President of Egypt, Abdel Fatah al-Sisi led the way in brokering the deal. The residents of Gaza celebrated with fireworks. Remember when the United States used to lead the way. Not under the Biden/Harris Administration.

Watching Joe Biden give his teleprompter statement was painful. His eyes are dead and his face is immobile. His movements don’t really go with the words he is mouthing. You can watch the full statement here. Although this was a very serious subject, it was a laughable moment when Joe Biden read from the prompter his work on the ceasefire:

“I believe the Palestinians and Israelis equally deserve to live safely and securely and to enjoy equal measures of freedom, prosperity and democracy,” the president said. “My administration will continue our quiet and relentless diplomacy toward that end.”

“Quiet and relentless diplomacy?” Joe didn’t know shite about this until his caregivers woke him up from nappy time and gave him his pudding cup.

Those who wrote Joe’s speech while he napped did acknowledge the work of Egypt’s al-Sisi in the ceasefire:

A ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was due to come into effect at 02:00 local time (2300 GMT), and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ordered the dispatch of security delegations to Israel and the Palestinian territories to uphold the deal, state TV reported.

The announcement came after intensive mediation to secure a truce between Israel and Hamas, with Egypt playing a central role due to its contact with both sides.

An Egyptian security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Hamas had pledged to comply with the truce if Israel ceased fire, and said consultations would begin after the implementation of the truce.

Sisi spoke to both U.S. President Joe Biden and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday evening, Egypt’s presidency said.

As well as de-escalation and a ceasefire, Sisi and Guterres discussed the importance of “launching a collective international effort aimed at re-starting the path of negotiations between the two sides to achieve the desired peace,” a presidency statement said.

Importantly, in the rebuilding of Gaza, the world will work with the Palestinian Authority and not Hamas. I hear you out there. That’s like working with the Crips rather than the Bloods. The problems of the people in Palestine lay directly at the feet of the leaders in Palestine and their culture of death.

The most honest coverage of the ceasefire came from SkyNews:

Despite the wishes of the Squad in Congress, the United States will replenish the Iron Dome. Hamas controls Gaza and Fatah, another terrorist group, controls the West Bank. And, the Palestinian people will see Hamas as their defenders in this latest round. Until the minute of the ceasefire, both Hamas and Israel were lobbing missiles at each other. The Egyptians deserve all the credit. Can you imagine that kind of honesty from any United States news agency?

In the Middle East, who comes out the winner in all of this? Benjamin Netanyahu, naturally. The Daily Express reported:

The truce was announced on Thursday evening following a meeting of the Israeli security cabinet amid mounting calls from the international for a de-escalation in Gaza. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now “more powerful” according to Sky News’s Mark Stone. Meanwhile, Hamas has seen its military capabilities degraded “massively,” according to the Middle East correspondent.

Mr Stone told Sky News viewser: “In terms of what’s been achieved well politically Benjamin Netanyahu is now more powerful than he was 12 days ago when he was fighting for his political life.

“Militarily the Israelis have managed to degrade Hamas’s capabilities massively.

“However it is worth stressing they were surprised by how capable Hamas was at being able to strike places like Tel Aviv.”

The world needs strong leaders and Benjamin Netanyahu is one. This ceasefire will last until Gaza is rebuilt and Biden sends more money to Iran to resupply Hamas.
