Insert joke about white fragility and white women’s tears here. Why on earth would Cea Weaver, Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s handpicked “tenant advocate,” start crying because the press wanted to ask her questions?

As Lisa covered for us, Cea Weaver is now part of the Mamdani administration, and has a long track record of spewing all sorts of communist nonsense about “abolishing private property” and how private ownership is a form of “white supremacy.” It should be noted that Cea Weaver is whiter than printer paper, so this is clearly her way of making herself a “good” person while bowing the knee to her socialist ideals.

Well, her past comments have come back to bite her squarely in the ass. Which is probably why she deleted both her X account AND her Facebook account. However, the internet is forever.

Michelle Tandler has an entire thread that is worth reading – with receipts – of the Cea Weaver worldview. Sohrab Ahmari got similar receipts off Weaver’s Facebook. But now, we should give Cea Weaver “general amnesty,” according to “The Nation” columnist David Klion, because that’s what she said BEFORE she was appointed. Um, how else are we supposed to judge why she got this job, if not by her comments from BEFORE?

And thanks to her new higher profile position, the media started digging into her life. Welcome to the big leagues, Cea Weaver!

Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s radical-left tenant advocate Cea Weaver once whined about gentrification in her Crown Heights, Brooklyn, neighborhood — despite being a middle-class white transplant who attended an expensive private liberal arts college.

“Where I live in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, we saw this cycle where landlords and bankers and policymakers had driven up the value of real estate using speculative financial capital, the housing market crashed, and then the solution to that was just a different private equity firm coming in and owning the buildings,” Weaver, 37, said in a Dissent magazine interview published last winter.

“This cycle fueled waves of gentrification in Crown Heights.”

Weaver, a Rochester transplant, made zero acknowledgment of her own potential contributions to gentrifying the area where she rents.

The housing advocate attended Bryn Mawr College — a private college in Pennsylvania where tuition costs as much as $88,000 per year.

And then this little tidbit popped up about Weaver’s mother. Why are all the socialist wannabes poor little rich kids?

Celia Applegate — whose daughter Cea Weaver is the director of Mamdani’s Office to Protect Tenants — teaches German studies at Vanderbilt University and owns a pricey classic Craftsman home just south of the main strip in Nashville, Tennessee.

Applegate bought the property with her partner, David Blackbourn, in July 2012 for $814,000 and real estate websites now list the pad’s value at more than $1.6 million, records show.

The handsome property boasts three bedrooms, two baths and 3,400 square feet.

The revelation comes after Weaver’s past slew of inflammatory social media posts came to light — including comments raging against what Mamdani’s Democratic Socialists of America ally dubbed a racist homeownership system in the country.

“Private property including any kind of ESPECIALLY homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy,” Weaver, 37, spouted in 2019.

While Weaver cannot be held responsible for her mother’s house, it does seem rather ironic that Mom owns quite a nice property, and Cea has had quite a privileged life. And now she’s part of the Mamdani administration, which is not a small thing. Mamdani is standing behind her, but that might be a problem, because she’s busy crying and running away from the media who wanted to ask her some questions.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s newly instated radical-left tenant advocate, Cea Weaver, broke down Wednesday as she dodged questions from reporters about her gentrification hypocrisy.

The 37-year-old, who has faced backlash for blasting homeownership as a “weapon of white supremacy” in the past, teared up when she emerged briefly from her apartment building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, at about 9 a.m.

Weaver, who was tapped by Mamdani to be his new director of the city Office to Protect Tenants, quickly ran back inside after she was asked about the $1.6 million home her mother owns in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tears. Actual tears. Over being asked questions. This woman is 37 years old! She’s in government!

This is an adult woman who needs to be able to stand up to questions to the media. If she’s breaking into tears and running off to avoid questions, this does not bode well for the people of New York City, who deserve to be able to ask questions of their public officials. Cea Weaver should not get the “poor little Hunter Biden” treatment. That was unacceptable when applied to a 50 year old man, even if he was the son of the president. It’s even LESS acceptable to excuse this behavior from a 37 year old woman who has a government job!

Cea Weaver needs to put on her big girl panties and decide if she wants to keep her job. If she does, that means she gets back out there, instead of hiding in her apartment, and talk to the media. If she doesn’t, then she needs to quit. But no more of this hiding and crying. She either has the courage of her communist convictions, or she’s a coward who can’t back up her mouthy social media posts and needs to not take a paycheck from the citizens of New York City.

She’s plotting more of her evil behind those tears.

    Liberal tears make me smile.

“This is an adult woman …”

Perhaps she’s only identifying as an adult woman and needs to run home to mummy for a cuddle and her blanky?

This country has somehow managed to raise 2 generations of children that seem to be incapable of growing up…..I never had kids but I have multiple friends that have them now that are 40 and still can’t survive on their own… Darwinism is going to raise it’s head shortly and it won’t be pleasant….

    • NTSOG says:

Yep, there are a lot of self-indulgent adult toddlers running around who needed to learn the word NO! many years ago.

Here’s what puzzles me: We Gen X types were pretty much left to our own devices. We were borderline feral when you think about it.

Did the generation raised by Gen X get coddled because they wanted things to be easier for them?

  • Jack says:

Pre gen X, I think / born 1947, grew up in the ’50s / early ’60s. We were pretty much a feral generation also.

    • NTSOG says:

Born 1950, not coddled. If I did something stupid I was allowed to suffer the consequences. Adults in those days had just been through the war and applied much stricter discipline. Indeed western societies were much stricter until the flower-power ‘revolution’ of the late 1960s when self-indulgence became the norm.

This bimbo is one more indication that NYC is about to get exactly what they voted for.. they’re going to get it good and hard, with NO lube..
