Can we just get to the bottom of it??

Can we just get to the bottom of it??

Listening to the majority of the Benghazi testimony I am struck by many things. One is the fact that the Democrats on the committee seem to be very dedicated to pontificating and assigning blame. They seem more interested in going on about the Republicans and the cuts to budgets than talking about the issue at hand-we need to know what happened to the four Americans who died on September 11th, 2012. We need to know for many reasons, but chiefly, we need to know what happened so that if people at the most senior level were remiss in their duties and in fact ordered our support services to stand down we can do something about that. We need to ensure that it does matter to our State Department employees, the diplomatic core, their families and everyone else who steps into harms way to protect our country and its interests.

I encourage you, dear reader, to remember the testimony given today and who on the committee was interested in getting to the bottom of what happened as opposed to assigning blame and playing party politics. If you are disgusted, please channel that disgust into action. Get involved with politics at the local level-where it all starts. Channel your disgust into becoming an educated voter, so that we can challenge those who obfuscated or simply were remiss in their duty-or asked “What difference does it make?”. I also ask you to support those on the committee who are on the side of the whistleblowers. Reward them with more terms, support for the initiatives they propose that you agree with. In short, honor the four Americans who lost their lives making the ultimate sacrifice for our nation and her interests by becoming engaged, and remaining engaged in politics for the rest of your life.

We owe it to Ambassador Chris Stevens to hold their feet to the fire and ensure that the people who endured and survived the seven hours of hell in this attack did not do so in vain.
