Boasberg: I’ll Hold Trump Officials In Contempt Over Deportation Flights

Judge Boasberg is at it again. Rather, he just keeps digging more holes for himself with judicial overreach, as in holding Trump officials in contempt. He held a hearing yesterday concerning the deportation flights that took place despite his last minute orders that they be turned around.

As our readers know, the left, media, and Democrats clutched all the pearls and shrieked to high heaven about those poor innocent illegal gangsters getting hauled off to El Salvador prisons. Were or are any of them concerned about the victims? Nope, not one bit.

What is concerning to many of us is the judicial overreach by judges such as Boasberg. A decision by one single judge can (according to their rulings) not only cause a nation-wide halt, it can override the President concerning issues of national security. And no one in the judiciary seems to be concerned about holding them accountable. Including Chief Justice Roberts.

Yesterday, Boasberg indicated that he’d hold Trump officials in contempt.

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg said the administration appeared to have acted “in bad faith” when it hurriedly assembled three deportation flights on March 15 at the same time that Boasberg was arranging emergency court proceedings to assess the legality of the effort.

Boasberg said during a hearing Thursday that he’s still weighing what penalties he could impose if he does hold officials in contempt. But courts have broad power to issue fines or impose jail time on people who defy court orders. Boasberg could even try to order the administration to demand that El Salvador return the deportees to the United States.

According to Boasberg, he’s well within his legal bounds to hold unnamed Trump officials in contempt if they don’t comply with his orders. Said orders seem to involve returning those illegal gangsters to the U.S. and handing Top Secret or classified intel to him in order to defend their positions. Interesting that he seems to think he can order up information and doesn’t give a rip if there’s classified intel in it or not. He’s ENTITLED you see because big bad judge.

If you read the media reports, they make it seem like the DOJ got wind of Boasberg’s “luck of the draw” notice at 7:30 am that Saturday and literally threw those illegals onto planes and said GO! Which doesn’t pass any rational smell test whatsoever.

According to Boasberg yesterday, he wants to know why the Trump Administration had to act so secretively. What are they hiding?

President Donald Trump’s least-favorite judge has accused the White House of acting in “bad faith” when it rushed to deport migrants to a mega-prison complex in El Salvador last month.

District Judge James “Jeb” Boasberg slammed the Trump administration in court on Thursday, claiming it would not have been so secretive about its deportation flights—or moved so quickly to carry them out—if it believed those actions were totally legal.

Which is rich coming from him given we don’t KNOW how many middle of the night flights were conducted during the Biden Administration. I’m talking about those midnight flights of illegals from the border to small airports around the country dropping them off in our communities without any notification TO those communities.

Yet Boasberg thinks that what the Trump Administration has and is doing by deporting illegals who commit crimes is “sketchy” and that he’s well within his legal bounds to demand information and order deportations halted. Does he really?

What’s interesting is that Boasberg spent quite a bit of time (in between rolling his eyes and letting out heavy sighs) in querying as to the specifics of the timeline leading up to the flights. He literally wanted to know why they didn’t have the press front and center as they got all this rolling. NOW he wants everything to be publicized? But he was totally fine with all the secrecy surrounding the entire Biden Administration for the last four years.

As Margot Cleveland points out, during the proceedings, Boasberg stepped in it a few times.

So, if I’m understanding this, the hearing was supposed to be about the order itself and whether it was violated, yet Boasberg took a LOT of side trips that had nothing to do with the order.

Now, I’m not an attorney, but if he rules to hold people in contempt, that information might be quite useful on appeal.

Despite other cases in which Boasberg had a grip on judicial reality, it definitely seems that a bug has really crawled up his butt about this case.

Does he have jurisdiction to make these rulings? Now that’s a question that needs answered.
