Biden Nominee Adeel Mangi: Kick This Radical To The Curb

pResident Biden’s nominee for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals is touted as by the White House and Democrat supporters as “brilliant litigator” with proven “devotion to his community, and commitment to religious freedom and civil rights”.

But which community and who’s rights? That’s the rub, eh?

Adeel Mangi, President Joe Biden’s nominee for the Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, served on the board of the Legal Aid Society of New York from 2017 to 2021. The organization is best known for representing indigent clients in New York City, but it has also been behind campaigns to defund police and shut down U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In June 2020, the Legal Aid Society urged supporters to “join the movement to #DefundNYPD,” and promoted a “March to Defund the NYPD” rally. In 2021, the Legal Aid Society called on the Biden administration to “end immigration detention” and for a “moratorium” on all deportations for one year. The group helped free hundreds of prisoners from Rikers Island because of the coronavirus pandemic, including a career criminal charged with murdering his girlfriend, and another man who was charged with attempted rape 10 days after the Legal Aid Society secured his release.

Mangi’s affiliation with the left-wing group, which has not been previously reported, could create additional headwinds to his confirmation.

Ya think? There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a defense attorney and taking difficult cases to see that the Due Process and Constitutional rights are neither ignored or abused. The adversarial nature of our justice system is designed to protect the accused and that the personal wishes or ambitions of any officer of the court shall not interfere with justice. But the cases Mangi has pursued is not the issue here. It is his associations with radical Left organizations that have used their stated missions as a figleaf for political advocacy.

And the Legal Aid Society isn’t Mangi’s only questionable association.

Mangi also serves on the advisory board of the Alliance of Families for Justice, which has lobbied for the parole of black nationalists convicted of killing police officers, the Washington Free Beacon reported. Kathy Boudin, a former member of the terrorist group Weather Underground, was a founding board member of the Alliance of Families for Justice. Boudin, the mother of former San Francisco district attorney Chesa Boudin, was convicted of murdering two New York police officers during the robbery of a Brinks armored truck in 1981.

We’ve covered Red Diaper baby, Chesa Boudin, and his radical parentage and upbringing before. He proved too radical even for San Francisco.

Senate Republicans vigorously questioned Mangi on yet another radical association of his:

Senate Republicans hammered Mangi during his confirmation hearing last month over his advisory board position at the board of the Rutgers Law School Center for Security, Race and Rights. The group hosted an event on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 that featured convicted terrorist financier Sami al-Arian, and more recently asserted that Israel provoked the Hamas attacks on October 7.

Mangi, who now works in private practice, has testified he was unaware of the event, and that he opposes terrorism. But he refused at his confirmation hearing to condemn the center over the event or its anti-Israel rhetoric.

Unaware? Allegedly, Adeel Mangi is one of the best of the best and, thus, deserving of a life-time appointment. Yet we are to believe this brilliant, caring, conscientious man never looks into what the associations he joined and supported in one capacity or another is up to?

Pull my other leg, Adeel.

Of course, Democrats have gone ’round the bend in playing the Islamophobia card against Republicans.

“What is it about Adeel Mangi that attracts such criticism? We know what the starting point is. He would be the first Muslim American to be appointed to serve on the circuit bench… And we know because of that he is a target,” (Senator Dick) Durbin charged.

Josh Hawley was having none of Dick’s mendacious twatwafflery.

Sen. Hawley called Durbin’s accusation of Islamophobia “absolutely outrageous,” and his conservative colleagues pointed out the committee overwhelmingly voted to appoint Zahid Quraishi, a Muslim American, to a lower federal court in 2021.

“I resent the insinuation that those of us who asked him questions are somehow anti-Muslim or prejudiced in some way. I think it’s outrageous,” Hawley said.

“I don’t care what his religion is or if he has a religion, I don’t care. But I do care that he was the director of a center that was basically a mouthpiece for Hamas.

You’d think the Democrats would stop with this particular page in their playbook — putting up a radical Leftist and using some characteristic as a cloak of invincibility.

It’s bad enough we have a Hamas wing in Congress and that not-insignificant numbers of college students have roiled their campuses with outbursts of Jewhate. We have witnessed time and again what people like Chesa Boudin, George Gascon and other social justice District attorneys have done in the communities they were elected to ostensibly protect. America should not made to endure Mangi on the Third Circuit anymore than if Gavin Newsom was nominated.

And isn’t that a nightmare to consider?

You know how toddlers will make up words and parents find it cute? This is not unlike the words islamaphobia, transphobia and homophobia. It’s long past time we stop indulging their fantasies.

And I disagree with your assertion that he’s a radical. In terms of liberal lawyers, this is closer to status quo. A true radical would adhere to the Constitution and not be ashamed of that fact.
