For the last several days, Democratic pundits and doomsayers have screamed from their ivory towers that Texas is about to start a civil war against the rest of the nation. To hear them say it, we’ll soon see the Texas version of Gettysburg or maybe even the Battle of the Bulge. As with so many things that come out of Washington D.C., this is all smoke and mirrors, carefully designed to hide the real issue. Unfortunately, at least for Biden et al, anyone with two working brain cells can see the real issue: the desire of the Administration to not only remove the buoys from the Rio Grande but to open our borders to any and all, no matter what their intent. Therein lies the danger.
This latest chapter of lunacy by the Administration and its supporters began with the SCOTUS decision several days ago. The Court ruled the federal government could remove the buoys. As our own Darlene pointed out, it did not order Texas to remove them. In fact, it didn’t order Texas to do anything. However, unlike Biden and his cohorts, Gov. Greg Abbott doesn’t believe in simply sitting back and doing nothing. And this is where the Dems began their magic show, attempting to convince the American public that Texas is ready to go to war against the nation, just as it did against Mexico before gaining its independence in 1836.
What Biden, with cooperation from much of the media, wants to out of the news are the facts about the immigration crisis as it stands today. Facts that prove the situation has gone far beyond being a simple problem to a crisis and beyond.
ICYMI: CBP sources tell FOX December finished with a staggering 302,000 migrant encounters, the highest single month ever recorded & first time hitting 300k. That includes nearly 250,000 Border Patrol apprehensions of illegal immigrants, also highest month ever for BP. There have…
— Bill Melugin (@BillMelugin_) January 2, 2024
Melugin goes on to report there were more than “785,000 migrant encounters at the southern border since October 1st.”
To put that in perspective, Seattle has a population of approximately 750,000, Denver 713,00, Boston 650,000, and Portland 635,000. The sheer number of people is staggering, especially when you consider many of them come with little more than the clothes on their backs and what they can carry. But we don’t hear the Administration talking about that because it doesn’t fit the optics it wants to present.
September 2023 saw 269,735 encounters along the southern border. Of those, 218,763 were caught attempting to illegally enter the country BETWEEN official ports of entry. How many were not caught? Worse, do the math. Add the September numbers to the last quarter of the year and you have more than 1,000,000 encounters/attempts to enter the US. In four months.
But leave it to the Administration to try to divert our attention with misrepresentations, diversions, and more. According to the powers-that-be, the number of encounters declined this month. Customs and Border Patrol reports that the numbers are down 50% for the first two weeks of January compared to December. It goes on to say this decline is consistent with ‘seasonal trends and enhanced enforcement’.”
What this rah! rah! statement doesn’t discuss are the hundreds of migrants that have camped on the Mexican side of the border, waiting for their chance to come across the river. It doesn’t discuss the number of migrants who have ridden trains, some of them riding on top of the trains, from parts of Mexico and Central American.
The Juarez newspaper three days earlier had reported the arrival of 300 more. It quoted a Venezuelan national as saying, “All along the way you hear, ‘Gate 36, Gate 36. They open it and let people in.’”
Instead of discussing just how serious the situation is along our southern border, Biden and company point an accusatory finger at Gov. Abbott and all but accuse him of committing treason against the United States. With each condemnation, with each accusation, I find myself wondering if anyone in the DNC has considered the political consequences if Biden does try to order troops to move against the Texas National Guard along the border. The Guard is there to protect Texas, its interests and its citizens, something Biden should be doing.
Instead, Biden–through his press secretary–accuses Abbott of playing political games and breaking the law. This coming from the president who apparently has no problem with bills about to be voted on not having their text released to those legislators who are supposed to make an informed decision on how to vote until there is little to no time to actually study the text. This from the president and his Administration that couldn’t be bothered with the economic impact of illegal immigration on a city or town until those towns were located north of the Mason-Dixon line or in the Pacific Northwest.
The Administration says what Texas is doing is making it harder for the Border Patrol to do its job. How? That’s the question that has never been satisfactorily answered. How is making it more difficult for illegal crossings to happen making it harder for CBP to actually have an “encounter” with someone wanting to enter the country? After all, if they can’t cross between the official crossing points, doesn’t that mean the CBP can concentrate its efforts at those locations, dealing face-to-face with those wanting into the country?
I guess that’s too logical for Biden and company to follow.
Fortunately for Texas and for the rest of the nation, the number of governors supporting Texas’s actions continues to grow.
This situation isn’t going to be over anytime soon. However, despite the dire warnings (or heartfelt wishes of some), it will not end in civil war. At least not from any action by Texas. The ball is in Biden’s court. Will he flinch or will he just go take a nap? My money’s on the nap. After all, he’s been napping on the border crisis since taking office.
Oh, and where’s our immigration tsarina Kamala in all this?

The sheer number of states voicing support for Texas is impressive. And in all honesty, I hope your statement about this not leading to civil war is correct.
CBP is backing down, not challenging TxNG. I suspect they actually agree with Abbott.
Effectively China Joe has lost all authority. In a parliamentary system his government will have fallen.
Unfortunately, our “Do Nothing” Congress as well as Biden has failed the American people by allowing this invasion. We will suffer from this for a long, long time….maybe forever!
To my knowledge, the SCOTUS ruling doesn’t direct or prevent Texas from doing anything.
At the end of your second paragraph I’m pretty sure you meant “1836” and not a century later. You can delete this comment after your correction.
Texas is about to start a civil war against the rest of the nation
No. Against D.C. But not against the rest of the nation.
BTW, keep in mind this war will be more English Civil War/Stuart Restoration/Glorious Revolution (between the Catholics and Protestants in England – think Cromwell) than it will be War of Northern Aggression. Progressivism is a religion*, and is at war with the founding religion of America: Christianity.

Actually, there has been evidence posted of luggage trucks conveying their worldly goods ahead of them on the trail. This is NOT an organic movement. It is being aided and abetted by the same globalists who want to destroy us – because we stand in their way of a worldwide utopia run by them.
