A panel of expert Human Rights lawyers has recommended to the International Criminal Court that they apply for warrants for certain Middle East leaders, among them Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu. One of the members of the panel is Human Rights lawyer Amal Clooney, wife of George Clooney, noted Leftist Blowhard. Clooney’s statement about her work for the ICC proves that she is just as much of a Blowhard as her husband. Vultures of a feather, you know.
Just in case you didn’t hear what happened. Honest to goodness, the advisory panel, that made the recommendations, believes Israel is the same as Hamas. From the New York Times:
The International Criminal Court prosecutor, Karim Khan, said Monday that he had requested arrest warrants for the leaders of Hamas and for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in relation to the Oct. 7 attack and the war in Gaza.
In a statement, Mr. Khan said he was applying for arrest warrants for Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’s leader within Gaza; Muhammad Deif, Hamas’s military leader; and Ismail Haniyeh, the movement’s Qatar-based political leader. Mr. Khan also said he was requesting warrants for Mr. Netanyahu and for Israel’s defense minister, Yoav Gallant.
While Mr. Khan’s request must still be approved by judges from the court, the announcement forms one of the harshest rebukes of Israel’s strategy in its seven-month campaign against Hamas and the war’s toll on Gaza’s civilian population. It also heightens scrutiny of Hamas’s actions at the start of the war in October, when Hamas fighters led a raid that killed more than a thousand people and abducted hundreds more.

“More than four months ago, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court asked me to assist him with evaluating evidence of suspected war crimes and crimes against humanity in Israel and Gaza. I agreed and joined a panel of international legal experts to undertake this task. Together we have engaged in an extensive process of evidence review and legal analysis including at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
The Panel and its academic advisers are experts in international law, including international humanitarian law and international criminal law. Two Panel members are appointed as expert ‘Special Advisers’ by the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. Two Panel members are former judges at criminal tribunals in The Hague.
Despite our diverse personal backgrounds, our legal findings are unanimous. We have unanimously determined that the Court has jurisdiction over crimes committed in Palestine and by Palestinian nationals. We unanimously conclude that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif and Ismail Haniyeh have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, including hostage-taking, murder and crimes of sexual violence. We unanimously conclude that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity including starvation as a method of warfare, murder, persecution and extermination.
I served on this Panel because I believe in the rule of law and the need to protect civilian lives. The law that protects civilians in war was developed more than 100 years ago and it applies in every country in the world regardless of the reasons for a conflict. As a human rights lawyer, I will never accept that one child’s life has less value than another’s. I do not accept that any conflict should be beyond the reach of the law, nor that any perpetrator should be above the law. So I support the historic step that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has taken to bring justice to victims of atrocities in Israel and Palestine.
Today, my colleagues and I have published an oped and a detailed legal report of the Panel’s findings. My approach is not to provide a running commentary of my work but to let the work speak for itself. I hope that witnesses will cooperate with the ongoing investigation. And I hope that justice will prevail in a region that has already suffered too much.”

All of the legal geniuses on the committee believe that “there are reasonable grounds to believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity including starvation as a method of warfare, murder, persecution and extermination.”
Do these legal twatspangles get all their reports from Hamas? Hamas are the only ones responsible for any hunger in Gaza. From the L.A. Times:
“At the point of inspection, the U.N. isn’t allowed to be there. So we don’t get any reason,” said Dominic Allen, the Population Fund’s representative for the Palestinian territories.
“It was puzzling to find flashlights to be rejected, to help a midwife deliver her services at night.”
Israel says it is sufficiently facilitating humanitarian deliveries. Officials have blamed delays on aid groups or on Hamas stealing supplies.
Shimon Freedman, spokesman for the Israeli agency Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories, said, “Israel places no limit on the amount of aid that can enter the Gaza Strip.” He said Israel is inspecting more humanitarian aid than international organizations on the ground can distribute, which humanitarian groups have disputed.

No. It is an allegation, not a rebuke. A rebuke would be someone with actual moral authority telling them specifically what they had done wrong and admonishing them for it. But this is standard for the left, calling an accusation a verdict.

That’s not actually a crime when it’s an actual siege. If they were denying food to the areas where they are occupying, then it might be. But right there you invalidate everything else you say – the ICC doesn’t have legal authority for these things in the case of Israel (or the US, I think), at least in terms of made up law that you insist on applying without consent.

Sweet hallelujahs! I do too! But I doubt the world will allow the Gazan people to be basically exterminated. That would be actual justice. The entirety of the people support Hamas and its actions (except insofar as those actions have made life more difficult).

Pretty much. They are considered “the oppressed” and therefore have absolute moral authority and their statements must remain unquestioned. Lying consistently does not reduce their moral authority.

And, these folks have a vested interest in complaining – it’s how they get more funding. ALL of the “humanitarian” groups aiding the Gazans are progressive fronts that basically convert funds from Western Civilization into welfare for people who refuse to grow up and take care of themselves.
