September 6, 2001.
My only daughter was born that day, the same day my life ended twice. Had it been up to the left, I could have chosen myself over her and chosen to abort my absolutely amazing 2-pound daughter in her 26th week of gestation because I wanted to live, long after what the left considers ‘viable’.
I lived anyway. So did she.
Over a week-long period of time, I went completely blind due to papillar edema caused by H.E.L.L.P. Syndrome, an extreme form of eclampsia. When I arrived at my doctor’s office my blood pressure was 260/180 and I was at stroke stage. A .4 nitroglycerin only brought it down to 240/160, so they loaded me in an ambulance and shipped me off to Hermann Hospital in Houston.
After coding twice and deciding that I absolutely was not a fan of arterial lines or intra-jugular IV’s, I was gifted with my only daughter of 4 children, who just happened to begin life as dramatically as possible. She started out in the NICU alongside other neonates even smaller than she. Alyssa, in the toaster next her, was born at 1-pound, 9 ounces, for example.
These are the babies the soulless left would discard or make optional. These are the babies for whom we must continue to fight. These are the babies for whom we march on this day of the March for Life in Washington, D.C. Personally, I believe my daughter was and is worth that fight, just as the others, because all unborn lives matter.

We should fight for all life because all life is created by God. How we treat the helpless is a measure of our opinion of God. Yes, Those that don’t make it we place in God’s merciful hands. Those that do make it… well, the same. We know that they belong to God first and foremost and are “ours” by divine grace.
God bless you and your family, ROS. Keep up the fight.
One the best arguments against abortion is Liberal Democrats. It seems to me their arguments keep growing more selfish, callous, and indifferent to reality. They don’t seem to care about anything except getting what they want right now.
Thanks for your post and your commitment to life.
