With most sincere apologies to William Shakespeare and every Sonnet ever written before.
Last night, President Donald Trump announced his second nominee to the Supreme Court of the United States and unleashed the Apocalypse. It would not be unreasonable if you were humming “It’s the End of the World As We Know It”. Me, I do feel fine.
Judge Brett Kavanaugh seems like a fine fellow. Coaches teams, feeds homeless. Victory Girls’ Nina Bookout gave you a pretty good round up of the OTT (over the top) reactions of the Dems and their buds in the media. Read it right here. The screeching harpies were so hopped up on Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) that Shannon Bream felt unsafe at the Supreme Court building (wtfreak!!!) and abandoned her live broadcast.
Courtesy of “The Washington Post” here is a little video featuring Senator Bernie Sanders (Sweet Jesus, what an idiot) the Naral woman and Senator Corey Booker:
The Naral babe said “our entire future is at stake.” Tell that to the babies murdered every day. And “Teen Vogue” is indoctrinating tomorrow’s baby killers:
According to C-SPAN, the Center for American Progress (CAP) convened a rally at the Supreme Court, where several high-profile Democratic senators spoke following the announcement. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) were among those voicing their opposition to Kavanaugh.
“This judge must not become the next justice of the Supreme Court,” said Gillibrand at the protest. “He can’t be trusted to safeguard rights for women, workers or to end the flow of corporate money to campaigns,” she wrote on Twitter. Sanders and Warren were similarly critical of the choice.
I was inspired by this flock of doomsayers. My favorite sonnet is by William Shakespeare. It is Sonnet 116 “Let Me Not To The Marriage of True Minds”. Here ladies and gentlemen, and those of you who identify as meat popsicles, is my first and most likely only sonnet.
A Sonnet to Trump Derangement Syndrome
Own the fact of Trump Derangement Syndrome
Without impediments. Nuts are just nuts
Who look upon honor and shout Hell no!
Whose hatred is such that blinds her to truth.
Oh yes! It is her constant companion,
That looks on each news cycle as more fuel.
It’s the North Star to ev’ry loony troll
When proved wrong, she screeches more loudly still.
Fake News CNN brings her to joy but,
With each ending day her need to resist
Leaves her empty and filled with so much doom.
If this be error and You can prove it,
Then I never read nor Trump Tweeted.
Again. I sincerely apologize to you and the late William Shakespeare.
EPIC!!
The true sonnet has both rhythm and rhyme
Alas! Fair Toni neglected the last
The form’s been preserved to last throughout time
‘Tis nothing that should be left to the past!
The Bard labored long to get sonnets right
Themes of loves won and loves which went bitter
Heart of our days, loves labors through long nights
Now have been shrunk to fit into Twitter.
Good Will would lament what’s happened to prose
And poetry’s now a very lost art
The scent that it gives is surely no rose
Today’s best writing is barely a fart
No need for iambic pentameter
It just must fit two-eighty characters!
They talk a lot about a “balanced” court. I don’t want a balanced court, I want a court that holds us to the dadgum Constitution! What they mean by a “balanced court” is one that will allow them to hold the unconstitutional “progress” they’ve made over the last century.
Of course. They define balance as getting their way.
The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.
