FBI Director James Comey is a former US Attorney who once prosecuted the Gambino crime family. He also served as lead prosecutor in the case surrounding the 1996 Khobar Towers bombings in Saudi Arabia. Yet despite this stellar resumé he just couldn’t find enough facts to recommend prosecution of Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified material. He claimed that his decision to not recommend criminal charges was based upon an “apolitical” review of one hundred years of case law.
Enter South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy. At this morning’s House panel convened to review Comey’s ‘investigation’ (I use that term charitably), former prosecutor Gowdy lit into Comey. He demonstrated, without directly accusing Comey of blatantly lying, how the evidence available to the FBI should have been used to show intent.
Behold Gowdy’s skill and deftness in eviscerating Comey. Kind of like Game of Thrones, but without the gore.
Here are some observations from Twitter, starting with FoxNews’ Martha MacCallum and following with attorney David Limbaugh:
Gowdy demonstrates at least 8 times Clinton lied about her email usage. Intent and consciousness of guilt proven right there he says.

Great point @TGowdySC re cumulative evidence pointing to Hillary’s intent and that Comey would have considered it with any other person.

And from GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak:
Trey Gowdy just did some real damage there.

Texas Congressman Will Hurd added his own smack down, Texas-style:
If I'd been as reckless w classified info in @CIA as @HillaryClinton, I'd be tweeting from prison. #ComeyHearinghttps://t.co/3EOL5mlTqx

A transcript of the exchange, should you wish to savor Gowdy’s slice-and-dice at your leisure, is available here.
The decision James Comey reached was an “apolitical” decision based upon one hundred years of case law. Right. Just like that little visit on a private plane between Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch was just to catch up on the grandkids.
Looks like Trey Gowdy pulled back the curtain to show us how James Comey just set his pants on fire, along with his fellow fibber Hillary Clinton.
He claimed that his decision to not recommend criminal charges was based upon an “apolitical” review of one hundred years of case law.
And that is flat out perjury.
Trey Gowdy just did some real damage there.
Oh, puhlease. He didn’t do any damage at all. Unless Hillary or Comey ends up in an orange jumpsuit with numbers on it, and a cellmate named Big Bubba, he didn’t do crap-all. Oh, it’s great theater for us patriotic Americans, but it didn’t *do* anything.
Destroying evidence.
Lying.
Huma says HRC used the server to avoid oversight.
There’s your indent. DUH.
Gowdy looked foolish. The look on his face said it all.
