Rev. Clementa Pinckney was just 41, and also a South Carolina state senator.

Twenty-six-year-old Tywanza Sanders was a recent graduate of Allen University in Columbia, and worked in a barber shop. He died while trying to save a family member.

Sharonda Coleman-Singleton was a 45-year-old mother of three, a reverend, and a popular high school girl’s track coach.

Myra Thompson was 59 and the wife of Rev. Anthony Thompson, a vicar at Holy Trinity REC.

Seventy-year-old Ethel Lee Lance, a sexton, worked at the church for over thirty years.
