The soy boy wonder just can’t stop digging can he? Jacob Frey, fresh off a phone call yesterday with President Trump, made a huge announcement. Federal immigration laws can be ignored and he won’t let state and local police enforce those laws.

From the phone call, this is what President Trump offered. Send Tom Homan to Minnesota and recall Gregory Bovino while keeping Kristi Noem out of the state. And…

Here are Trump’s four demands:

Turn over illegals in local jails or subject to arrest warrants to the feds.
Have state and local law enforcement commit to turning illegal immigrants over to the feds.
Make local police help the feds track down and detain illegal immigrants wanted for crimes.
Partner with the feds to “protect American Citizens in the rapid removal of all Criminal Illegal Aliens in our Country.”
For Trump’s part, if these demands are met, he promises to reduce the federal footprint in Minnesota, because, frankly, many agents wouldn’t be needed anymore with cooperation from local police.

As David Marcus points out, those aren’t unreasonable demands. Protecting American citizens is what local and state police are supposed to do. A MAYOR is supposed to be ensuring the safety of his constituency. Right?

It turns out the local police have been wanting to help and have the training, but have been told to stand down. 

St. Paul Police Federation President Mark Ross blamed state and local officials for the anti-ICE protest violence — saying that if highly trained cops were allowed to work with the feds, it likely would have prevented the killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

“Since the Republican National Convention was held in St. Paul back in 2008, Minnesota law enforcement has undergone extensive training in mobile field force configurations and crowd management for major events. And because of that, I think we’re in the best position to deal with that,” Ross said.

ICE and Border Patrol are trained to make arrests. They are not trained in dealing with crowds of professional, dialed in via Signal, paid agitators. State and local police in Minnesota are. But Tim Walz and Jacob Frey have tied their hands. 

And so, Jacob keeps digging all the holes for himself while continuing to endanger his constituents. 

“The job of our police is to keep people safe, not enforce fed immigration laws. I want them preventing homicides, not hunting down a working dad who contributes to MPLS & is from Ecuador. It’s similar to the policy your guy Rudy had in NYC. Everyone should feel safe calling 911,” the mayor asserted in a post on X, making an apparent reference to former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

No buddy boy, you do NOT get to pick and choose which laws to enforce and which ones you don’t have to. Especially when it comes to the safety of your community!

Frey wants everyone to ignore the fact that ICE has been arresting murderers, rapists, pedophiles, car thieves and more. ALL of whom are here illegally. Frey, by his statement, has zero problem keeping those kind of criminals on the streets and in your neighborhoods. 

Just an extraordinary amount of self-congratulation around the basic theme: "We stopped ICE from arresting a Laotian rapist."

His sources ,by the way, are stats directly from county jails in Minnesota. Not ICE. 

Yet good ole Jacob enjoys the holes he’s digging. 

I shared with Mr. Homan the serious negative impacts this operation has had on Minneapolis and surrounding communities, as well as the strain it has placed on our local police officers.

What strain on the local PD?? You have kept them from doing their jobs! Furthermore, by letting the professional agitators freely roam and disrupt legal law enforcement proceedings without police oversight, YOU are the one endangering your community. 

At least Walz is, partly, letting MN state patrol do their jobs. By keeping rabid agitators from storming in and destroying a hotel. So there’s that small positive step. But Walz would also like ICE and Border Patrol out of the state. 

He, like Jacob Frey, are evidently fine with keeping car thieves, burglars, criminals who commit assault, child rapists, and more roaming free across Minnesota neighborhoods. 

They both are siding with criminals instead of siding with their law-abiding constituents. 

I have to wonder what it will take for them to stop digging and accept reality?
