Mamdani: Rugged Individualism OUT, Huggable Socialist Collectivism IN

Mamdani held a second inauguration late yesterday afternoon in front of the actual NYC City Hall. He made it clear, abundantly clear, that America’s rugged individualism is to be kicked to the curb.

The entire afternoon was a celebration of socialism.

In his first speech as mayor, before a shivering crowd of thousands outside City Hall, Mr. Mamdani sought to immediately assure New Yorkers that he intended to carry out his affordability agenda, and that he would refuse to “reset expectations” for what government can and should deliver for the working class and the unprotected.

“The only expectation I seek to reset is that of small expectations,” Mr. Mamdani said. “Beginning today, we will govern expansively and audaciously.”

He promised to lead unapologetically both as a left-wing Democrat — “I was elected as a democratic socialist and I will govern as a democratic socialist,” he said — and as a mayor for all New Yorkers, including those who did not support him.

I’m sure that’s totally comforting when you have AOC and Bernie Sanders touting the joys of city run grocery stores, universal childcare (paid by you and I), free buses for all, and a singer headlining with a socialist anthem.

Many of those in the crowd have ZERO clue that, under socialist collectivism, there is no bread and there sure as hell aren’t any roses. In fact, the event planners embraced socialism quite well in yesterday’s freezing weather. Food? Nope. Warm drinks such as hot chocolate or coffee? Certainly not. Bathrooms? None to be found. A prime example of socialism at work.

For those in New York, I hate to tell you, but we warned you this was coming. We warned you that, if the city government doesn’t like the rental rates a landlord has put in place, THEY will step in.

As history has shown us, government run housing in the Soviet Union was a dismal failure. Government run grocery stores end up with empty shelves and no food on the table for their citizens.

Never mind what it costs to keep and maintain an apartment building or home. If the government decides the rent is unfair, they will step in.

The same with EARNING too much money. If you aren’t throwing those hard-earned earnings around like confetti to the non-workers, Mamdani plans to take it from you.

We were once reliably informed that a salute of that kind meant you were a Nazi.

But it was THIS part of his speech that is truly catching everyone’s attention. You see, as we start celebrating 250 years of this great Republic, 250 years of WE THE PEOPLE, Mamdani has issued this proclamation.

Let me tell you something. Rugged individualism is what has BUILT this country. Rugged individualism led to the settling of the colonies, giving the Brits the boot, exploring and settling this great land, and standing tall for individual freedom.

Mamdani wants the collective to power all and the individuals who don’t comply will be punished. We will take your business, your taxes, your livelihood if the collective – read government – demands it. That’s socialism at its absolute worst.

Too many in the crowd don’t have a clue about what they’ve just brought upon themselves.

“I think that we are looking at the possibility of a lot of progressive policies being put into place, and I think that means a safer society for all,” he said.

Simone Swartz, a veteran, was there with her friends Dev Mehra and Bilal Mohammed, holding a pink teddy bear they had given her that was outfitted in a Mamdani T-shirt. Mamdani, she said, was the first political candidate she felt excited to vote for.

“Mamdani has been the first politician this has actually supported actual American values: treating everybody with respect, freedom and access to public services,” she said.

*SIGH. Where to start with all that?

Progressive policies such as getting rid of the police and putting a lesbian in charge of the FDNY when she’s never ever actually fought a fire? Progressive policies such as putting an attorney in as Chief Counsel who went to bat for 9/11 terrorists?

How about axing all of Eric Adams executive orders, including the ones that were to protect Jews from antisemitic hate crimes?

As for treating everyone with respect and freedom… that’s what socialist collectivism promised also.

The answer is MILLIONS have died under socialism’s banner.

For the record:

“The individual is nothing; the collective is everything.” – Stalin

“The interests of the individual must be subordinated to the interests of the collective.” – Mao

“Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State.” – Mussolini

“We’ll replace rugged individualism with collectivism.” – Mamdani

Don’t be afraid to call out objective evil when you hear it.

We are calling it out. Mamdani wants to impose socialist rule on New York City and too many others want to or are trying to follow suit elsewhere. Too many don’t know history and fail to realize the following.

It is a cancer. Rugged individualism built this Republic. Rugged individualism brought us all freedom. Mamdani is trying to tell us collectivism is warm and fuzzy. It is not. Our freedom disappears under collectivism.

We warned you New York. Too bad you didn’t listen.

Following the example of the Los Angeles Mayor, he applied DEI as the criteria for selecting a Fire Commissioner.

Mrs.O’Leary, your cow will be welcomed in NYC.

Hmmm… Some thousands of people jammed into the area for the inauguration speech, no food, no bathrooms, subfreezing temperatures. Indeed they are the first to experience “the warmth of the collective”.

We should have gone after the communists in this nation with more passion than the Germans went after Nazis once WW2 was done.

      McCarthy was right!

      • Wfjag says:

Not quite. McCarthy warned of the infiltration and subversion by International Communists (socialists with class enemies).

Mandami’s political philosophy is socialism with race enemies, which is also known as National Socialism.
