Fresh off Senate Democrats stomping on a bill to protect women in sports by keeping out transgender men, Democrats are looking for more ways to make fools of themselves. For tonight’s Joint Address to Congress by President Donald Trump, the Democrats have decided on the whole clown car full of responses. I bet some Democrats miss Nancy Pelosi’s take no prisoners leadership. This should be interesting.
Not that Nancy was a great leader. In 2020, Nan had the sobsisters in white and dramatically tore up her copy of Trump’s speech. Her response was stupid, but it was a response. Dollar Store Obama, Speaker Hakeem Jeffries, has decided to go for the whole clown car full of tricksters is the appropriate response.

The Washington Examiner titled its article “Democrats split on how to handle Trump’s joint address to Congress”:
Democrats are divided over how to respond to President Donald Trump’s first joint address to Congress of his second administration, with many expecting less drama than in previous years as leadership leaves attendance up to the members.
Multiple Democratic lawmakers confirmed to the Washington Examiner that leaders did not issue specific guidance on whether the caucus needed to attend Trump’s address in the House chamber on Tuesday evening. In a “Dear Colleague” letter, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said the decision will be a “personal one” but urged a “strong, determined and dignified Democratic presence in the chamber.”
There is a GOOD reason Hakeem is the Dollar Store Obama. Did you see this?
“The House as an institution belongs to the American people, and as their representatives we will not be run off the block or bullied,” Jeffries wrote.
From the same article, some of the women are going for the Pretty In Pink meme:
Dozens of Democratic women are planning to wear pink, a “color of power and protest,” to Trump’s address, Time reported on Monday. This is a contrast to last year, when Democratic women wore white, a nod to the suffragette movement, and “Fighting for Reproductive Freedom” pins to former President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.
The Pretty in Pink crowd held a dress rehearsal today, right Mujeres?
According to the Washington Examiner, the Congressional Black Caucus is wearing Black. Brian Mast says it’s in mourning for the Democrat Party:
“I heard the Congressional Black Caucus is wearing black. I think it’s because it’s a mourning for the Democrat Party. ‘Cause the president is putting nails in the coffin right there,” Mast said on Fox News’s Fox and Friends. “He’s delivering on the American dream, making America more secure, which he talked about in the first term — on the southern border and so many places. He’s delivering jobs to the American people: A Honda Civic plant into Indiana, Taiwan semiconductor into Arizona. He’s bringing jobs to the United States of America. He’s getting government out of the way. And he’s making — for the first time in our lifetime — the American government spend less. That’s the American dream.”
Others who are showing up, plan to bring clappers and airhorns, according to Axios:
Signs with anti-Trump or anti-DOGE messages — just as Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) held up a sign during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech last year that said “war criminal.”
Eggs or empty egg cartons to highlight how inflation is driving up the price of eggs.
Pocket constitutions to make the case that Trump has been violating the Constitution by shutting down congressionally authorized agencies.
Hand clappers, red cards like those held up to express disagreement at town halls, and various other props have also been discussed.
So mature. And scripted. From Twitchy:
They are multiplying….

Oy freaking vey. Democrats are plumb out of ideas. Give it up and stay home. They will only make the clown car more full.

Hakeem is a good name for a clown…not so good for an American legislator.
