Per the FDA, there are no longer any restrictions on prescribing abortion pills. What could possibly go wrong with this?

The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday said it’s lifting longstanding restrictions on abortion pills, clearing the way for doctors to prescribe the drugs online and have them mailed to patients or sent to local pharmacies.

Enforcement of the agency’s decades-old rules requiring the pills to be physically handed out by a physician was suspended earlier this year following a lawsuit from the ACLU arguing that the risks of traveling to a doctor’s office during the Covid-19 pandemic outweighed any potential harms from having the drugs delivered. Now, the agency says it will move to make the looser distribution rules permanent.

First of all, the ACLU has most definitely lost its way. Secondly, according to Politico, this now opens up the abortion battle on new fronts. You THINK?? Here’s what it REALLY does, it puts women’s health at serious risk! Keep in mind, this is NOT the same as the morning-after pill which is offered over-the-counter. This is a very different medication. 

Chemical abortion pills have four times the complication rate as surgical abortions and are more likely to send women to the emergency room. Physicians recommend in-person exams prior to prescribing abortion pills because ultrasounds can help minimize harm to the mother.

“If you can’t tell a woman how far along she is you also can’t tell her what her risks are,” Dr. Donna Harrison, the chief executive officer of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, told the Washington Free Beacon. Women often misdate their pregnancies and taking the abortion pill too late could prove deadly. Harrison also noted that virtual visits would make it easier for men to force women to take the abortion pill.

Think about that for a moment. If a woman truly doesn’t know how far along she is, and takes a very powerful chemical medication that is supposed to kill the child inside her, the risks are great. Especially if the doctor doesn’t even perform a physical exam on her prior to prescribing this life-killing medication!

Earlier this month, in a gruesome display of evil, abortion activists downed these baby killers in front of the Supreme Court.

As I wondered when I saw that hideous display, did those activists really take an actual abortion pill or was this grandstanding to make their evil point. Also, if they really WERE pregnant, the timing of their supposed pregnancy and their protest in front of the Supreme Court is…suspicious. 

Those who believe that abortion is a Constitutional right (which it ISN’T because right to an abortion is NOT in that document), are applauding this. 

“People think that Roe v. Wade being overturned means our work is done. That’s not true. It will become a 50-state battle, and that’s where we’re going to be fighting,” Kristan Hawkins, the president of the anti-abortion-rights group Students for Life of America, said Thursday during a press conference, stressing that pushing state and federal restrictions on the pills will be one of the movement’s top priorities.

Anti-abortion-rights groups said Thursday they are also working to counteract what they anticipate will be a “great backlash from the other side” should Roe fall, and are investing millions to elect politicians in 2022 and 2024 who will sign restrictions on the pills into law.

You know that Rachel Maddow thinks this move is awesome. 

There are SO many problems with this. Most importantly, it is because it is yet another way for a baby to be killed. Secondly, as discussed above, this chemical baby killer should only be prescribed within a certain time frame. Third, this abortion pill has serious health risks. Third, there are many illegal providers who’ve been selling this crap over the internet. 

Plan C, a website that details how to illegally purchase chemical abortion pills online, said it has seen a significant increase in web traffic, especially in Texas, which enacted a six-week abortion ban in September. States have placed restrictions on chemical abortion pills such as requiring they be purchased in-person and through a provider, but pills not approved by the FDA have continued to sell online with ease. The FDA sent a cease and desist letter in 2019 to the top illegal supplier in the country, Aid Access, but no action has been taken to stop its sales.

So, the FDA never took action against those selling fake deadly drugs. What action will the FDA take when the abortion pill is prescribed and a woman lands in the hospital with severe complications? Probably none. 

This move by the FDA is purely political in my opinion and has ZERO to do with women’s health. In fact, now the FDA gets to pretend that abortion pills are safe for women. As for the babies? Safety and life need not apply.
