One year ago today, the world was appalled by the video of the death of George Floyd. We didn’t know anything about him, but the video of his death was horrific. The length of time, plus nine minutes, added to the shock value. We saw the knee on the neck and the appearance of the callousness of the police. One year later,the criminal cop has been convicted and awaits his sentencing and George Floyd’s family has been invited to the White House. Everything has gotten worse. More death, more destruction and a nation even more divided.

George Floyd was not an innocent man murdered by law enforcement. The police were called because he tried to pass a counterfeit bill at a convenience store. At the time of his death, Floyd had methamphetamine and fentanyl in his system and had been a known drug user. That didn’t make his death less horrific. Mr. Floyd was also a known criminal:

Floyd had moved to Minneapolis after being released from Texas prison for aggravated robbery. He was under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the time of arrest. He went to jail for atleast 5 times and a look at George Floyd’s profile as per court documents reads like a career criminal involved in drug abuse, theft, criminal trespassing, aggravated robbery as well as entering a woman’s home and pointing a gun at her stomach while looking for drugs and money.

The woman at whose stomach Floyd pointed that gun…was pregnant. George Floyd was neither a hero nor a martyr. Those of us who were outraged at the circumstances under which he died, we were appalled at what happened next. As our Kim wrote, Floyd had three funerals in three states, featuring Al Sharpton and Joe Biden. Seven year old Jaslyn Adams got none of that. Jaslyn Adams was shot and killed in the drive-thru of a Westside Chicago McDonald’s. Police tried to give her CPR and placed her in the back of their SUV and raced to the hospital to try to save her. The family thanked the police but the police were not feted and Jaslyn Adams didn’t get three funerals with Al Sharpton and Joe Biden.

The nation has been treated, for the last year, to the destruction of businesses, properties and lives. The riots in Minneapolis, Seattle and other places perpetrated by Antifa and Black Lives Matter. CHOP or CHAZ and the Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan’s “Summer of Love” led to the death of 19 year old Horace Lorenzo Anderson. Police Magazine reported that 2,000 law enforcement officers were injured:

More than 2,000 law enforcement officers were injured in the first weeks of protests over the summer following the in-custody death of George Floyd, according to a report from the Major Cities Chiefs Association.

The Association detailed the unrest and compiled data from protests between May 25 and July 31 in MCCA member cities, Fox News reports.

During that period, there were 8,700 protests nationwide; 574 were declared riots with violence and other criminal acts. The violence was limited to 7% of protests, the report said.

In most cases, the criminal acts were the work of individuals or small groups that infiltrated larger demonstrations, according to the organization.

Speaking of Chiefs of Police, the CHOP/CHAZ people rioting on behalf of George Floyd took over a Seattle Police Precinct, which led to the resignation of Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best after the Seattle Board cut law enforcement funding.

Meanwhile, Black Lives Matters, Inc. was getting major funding.

On George Floyd Anniversary Eve, Fox News’ Lawrence Jones had a discussion about Black Lives Matters with Black Guns Matter founder Maj Toure:

This, this video was the discussion we have needed to hear for several decades. Two fearless black men having an honest discussion. That’s right $50 billion promised from corporations, and only $50 million given. Black Lives Matters pulled $90 million, but only spent 25% on charitable causes. As Maj Toure said “follow the money”. Black Lives Matters, the organization, has no interest in improving the lives of the black constituency, kind of like Middle East Peace negotiators. No strife, no need for them. BLM, Inc. is different from those working in the communities because black lives matter. Has Black Lives Matters paid for the funeral of any of the children in Chicago murdered by gang violence? Maj Toure is right. BLM is a money laundering organization and home buying operation too.

Toure is also right. The people who were bused in to destroy the communities made a problem worse and that allows saviors to come swooping in. Toure also quoted Malcolm X:

The white liberal is the worst enemy to America and the worst enemy to the black man.”

Toure is also right about the destruction of the black family and the lack of a strong black father in the home. That is true of every race on the planet. Who benefits from problems in the black community? Liberal, mostly white, politicians. And, Maxine Waters and Al Sharpton.

We cannot let this George Floyd anniversary post go without mentioning the shots fired at the Memorial Protest today:

The Associated Press earlier reported that as many as 30 shots were heard a block away from the intersection, known as George Floyd Square, causing bystanders to duck for cover. The wire service reported that a store window appeared to have been damaged by a bullet.

A festival was planned in the area for later in the day on Tuesday, according to the AP.

Little honest discussion, more deaths and more destruction. Given the way George Floyd lived his life, that is somehow fitting. Bad for our nation.
