It’s not his fault. Don’t blame Joe. During a visit Thursday to the National Institutes of Health, Joe Biden made the claim that President Donald Trump failed in the Coronavirus Vaccination department by not having enough vaccinations made or a plan for distribution. Poor Joe, he waited 47 years to get the job and is still not up to it in any way, shape or form.
Joe Biden first claimed he had a plan to battle Covid-19 back in April, 2020. Don’t try following the link in my post. You cannot read his pre-election plan anymore. When Biden introduced his health team on December 8, 2020, he claimed:
“This team will help get … at least 100 million covid vaccine shots into the arms of the American people in the first 100 days,” Biden said during a Dec. 8 news conference introducing key members of his health team.
When first asked about his pledge, the Biden team said the president-elect meant 50 million people would get their two-dose regimen. The incoming administration has since updated this plan, saying it will release vaccine doses as soon as they’re available instead of holding back some of that supply for second doses.
As of February 10, 2021, about 45 million Americans have gotten at least one dose of a Coronavirus vaccination. It’s really hard to get exact numbers because of the number of vaccines, the variance in doses and inefficient data reporting.
One might think that President Trump would be getting massive amounts of credit for Operation Warp Speed which cut through red tape and pumped taxpayer dollars into the pharmaceutical companies to make the vaccines a reality. Remember when Anthony Fauci said it would take 12-18 months to get a vaccine? Here is your handy reminder:
Fauci, director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, said that the earliest the US could possibly get a vaccine would be in 12 or even 18 months — “at least.”
Even a year-and-a-half would be staggeringly fast for vaccine development, and some experts have voiced concerns that a vaccine produced on that timeline could hurtle too quickly through safety trials.
Anthony Fauci has been in government for about a decade less than Joe Biden and has had about as many concrete achievements. Fauci promised an A.I.D.S. vaccine quite a while ago. It’s classic government bureaucracy and inefficiency that Biden kept Fauci on staff.
In his speech today at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Biden said:
Biden said Trump, who spent his last two months in office in a futile effort to overturn the results of the Nov. 3 presidential election that he lost, did not order enough vaccine and did not do enough to get people lined up to get vaccinated.
He said the vaccine program he inherited was in “much worse shape” than he had anticipated and that his transition team had been misled about the vaccine supply.
“While scientists did their job in discovering vaccines in record time, my predecessor – I’ll be very blunt about it – did not do his job in getting ready for the massive challenge of vaccinating hundreds of millions,” Biden said.
Does that make you want to throw something at your screen? Biden cannot even bring himself to thank President Trump. Biden loves bureaucratic red tape. There is no bloody, freaking way he could have managed anything like Operation Warp Speed.
Here is the relevant clip for the NIH speech:
Mask-wearing, virtue-signalling, mumbling old Joe tells the crowd that he will admit when he makes a mistake, but blames Trump. Trump didn’t set up a “Federal vaccine center”? Yeah, that’s the problem. That would require a massive computer program. Anyone remember the Obamacare program rollout. The program crashed, bigly. This proves that Joe cannot learn from experience.
President Trump relied on that states to handle the Coronavirus vaccination programs. His administration worked with the states to get them the storage facilities and dry ice they need:
Brian Morgenstern, a former White House official involved with the coronavirus effort, said the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed program had prepared plans well in advance, aided by many career officials still serving in government.
“That is why the new Administration’s goals were being surpassed before they even came into office. Enough with the lies, excuses & political pot shots. Time to lead,” he said.
Trump had expressed pride in the speed of the vaccine development on his watch.
Enough, Joe. First, you can thank President Trump for his hard work, diligence, and foresight. Then, you can ask him how to get things done. Some people are doers, and some, like Joe, are talking slugs.
And, Joe, keep your hands off of your face and mask.
