The New York Times has published an article claiming the Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House Coronavirus Task Force Coordinator, is taking heat from both sides. That’s an odd assertion. In the Covid-19 battle, there are more than two sides. Dr. Birx is taking incoming from every side, including from in her own tent.

The New York Times article is written by Shery Gay Stolberg and titled, “With Old Allies Turning Against Her, Birx Presses On Against the Coronavirus”. Typical of anything, straight news or editorial, in the failing New York Times, Stolberg twists phrases and relies on innuendo.

You may or may not have heard that Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed Deborah Birx in a closed door meeting with Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Our Deanna wrote about the shrewish Pelosi and you can read it here. Below is the relevant quote:

Pelosi (D-Calif.) reportedly savaged Birx during a Thursday night meeting with White House officials, calling her “horrible” and “the worst.”

“Deborah Birx is the worst. Wow, what horrible hands you’re in,” Pelosi told Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.

Fauci “is now a hero,” Pelosi added.

Savage much, Nancy? Donald Trump hit back at Nancy:

“So Crazy Nancy Pelosi said horrible things about Dr. Deborah Birx, going after her because she was too positive on the very good job we are doing on combatting the China Virus, including Vaccines & Therapeutics. In order to counter Nancy, Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!” Trump tweeted.

Sheryl Stolberg reported this as Trump called Birx “pathetic”:

Old allies and public health experts have expressed disgust at her accommodations to Mr. Trump and, more so, at the performance of the federal response she is supposed to be leading against the most devastating public health crisis in a century. Ms. Pelosi said she had lost confidence in Dr. Birx, while Mr. Trump called her “pathetic” after she suggested the obvious: The coronavirus is in a “new phase” and is spreading rampantly.

I read that differently. I read it as the whole situation is pathetic. And, it is. Trump defended Dr. Birx:

This entire New York Times article is filled with arthropod excrement like this. Lots of talk with experts who criticize the Trump Administration response, but don’t offer one eensy-teensy thing they would do differently. Like this from an HIV/AIDS activist:

“Her credibility, particularly in the H.I.V.-AIDS community, has taken an enormous hit in the last five months,” said Mitchell Warren, the executive director of AVAC, a global advocacy group fighting to end H.I.V./AIDS, who has worked closely with Dr. Birx. “She is absolutely data driven, so it is incredibly disappointing to see her coordinating a national response which has not at all been best in class, but has been a disaster on many levels.”

What has been a disaster? What has not been the best in class? Here is another quote from the Slimes article:

Dr. Birx declined to be interviewed for this article. Her defenders, and even her critics, say she is in a difficult spot, serving a mercurial president who has shown little regard for science.

“Mercurial president”? “Little regard for science”? He shut down the entire country, based on the recommendations of the science community, for months. This country is not one homogeneous entity. Every community is different. Heck, where I live we have a city and county governments. The city shut totally down. Our Libertarian county mayor, Kane, left it up to businesses for the most part. I heart my mayor.

Here is something for you to ponder. Read this quote from the article and then we’ll talk:

Within public health circles, debate is raging over how much blame Dr. Birx bears for the virus’s spread. Some say Mr. Trump is responsible, but, they add, the dangerous misinformation he has spread has often gone uncorrected by Dr. Birx.

Remember I said that Birx is taking incoming from every side, including inside her own tent. I have no information, but I cannot stand Dr. Anthony Fauci, so I blame him. I am going to link to a youtube video from Laura Ingraham’s show the other night, here. She interviewed Dr. Ramin Ouskoui and Dr. Stephen Smith. The subject was Dr. Fauci’s testimony before Congress and his dismissal of another Hydroxychloroquine study. Dr. Ouskoui called Dr. Fauci’s testimony “manipulative and dishonest as a scientist”. Wow, that’s huge.

I am not saying Fauci dissed Deborah Birx to the New York Times, but he sure has better public relations people. Just think about his InStyle digital cover shoot. Right? You don’t survive in D.C. without great p.r. people.

If Dr. Birx wants to stop the incoming and more hatchet jobs from the NY Times, she needs to hie herself to a P.R. firm.
