From Al Gore to Congress’s Marxist-Pop entertainer, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the screaming “Climate Change is REAL and we are all GONNA DIE” should not be shrugged at. Because their fervent religious beliefs actually have consequences.
While east coast residents may claim California doesn’t have seasons, us native Californians beg to differ. Our seasons are Spring, Summer, Fire, and Mud. (ba-dap tish) But joking aside, I’ve lived in California all my life and cycles of dry years and wet years, fires and mudslides, bare mountains and record snow packs is nothing new.
But not to former Governor Jerry Brown and his acolytes who spent the better part of his 2011-2019 run as governor punishing citizens rather than building new water infrastructure.
During the 2011-16 California drought, politicians and experts claimed that global warming had permanently altered the climate, and that snow and rain would become increasingly rare in California. As a result, long-planned low-elevation reservoirs, designed to store water during exceptionally wet years, were considered all but useless and thus were never built.
Read that again and gawk.
We can mock the doomsday predictions of “global warming scientists” that our children will no longer experience snow; however, of the 18 trillion gallons of rainwater that has fallen in California this February alone, the vast majority of it went thataway into the ocean.
If we experience a dry year in 2020, I’d love to make it hotter by marching on Sacramento with pitchforks and torches.
Remember what Climate Change Religionists have cost Californians. There will be no shame at not building reservoirs. Just more harangues that we should give up our cars, our plane travel, our single-family homes, our air-conditioning and eating meat. We are climate sinners and haven’t sacrificed enough.
But you know, it’s almost as if the goal of the Green New Deal isn’t the environment at all.

Liar, liar, pants on fire.
We’ve had ‘little ice ages’ and ‘warm periods’ throughout history.
People adapted.
Spring, Summer, Fire, and Mud
Funny, I’ve always thought they were Drought, Fire, Flood, Mud. Not always in that order.
marching on Sacramento with pitchforks and torches
Sorry, but that won’t happen. It’s California. The pitchforks will have to have blunted tips (safety, donchano!) and the torches will have to be electric (safety and CO2!) – with rechargeable batteries, powered from sustainable sources.

No, it seems to be primarily about consolidating control and raising YUGE barriers to entry for anyone hoping to enter the upper crust – economically or politically.
