Dems Demand a Sacrifice on the altar of #METOO

What happens when there are very similar accusations against powerful men, but one of those men is a Democrat and the other a Republican? To find the answer, look no further than the reaction to Kavanaugh versus Fairfax. One man was almost run out of town on a rail, while the other is politely told he should resign. Democrats were wrong on both counts. 

Double Standards Apply

Unfortunately for Virginia Lt. Governor Fairfax, his accuser put her accusation into the full light of day. No credit to the media, who again provided shelter for a Democrat accused of sexual assault. The accuser notified the Washington Post about her story. The Washington Examiner reports,

the Washington Post was first approached by the alleged victim more than a year ago and [WaPo] decided not to publish her story. The Post explained Monday that it declined to report the woman’s allegations due to an absence of corroborating evidence…..

And from the Federalist,

The Washington Post, in phone calls to people who knew Fairfax from college, law school and through political circles, found no similar complaints of sexual misconduct against him. Without that, or the ability to corroborate the woman’s account — in part because she had not told anyone what happened — The Washington Post did not run a story,” the newspaper reported on Monday.

Well now, that’s really ethical and professional of them to make sure the story is accurate before they run with it. I remember the media did the same thing with Brett Kavanaugh. Um, wait. I’m tired and my brain is groggy, let me double check…According to the Federalist,

The Washington Post reported Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations against Kavanaugh despite no evidence and no corroboration of Ford’s account.

Thankfully for Kavanaugh, Lindsey 2.0 came to the rescue and blocked the swarm of vultures. Two of whom are running for POTUS

Their Plays and Lies

Irresponsible and factually incorrect representation by the media isn’t new. I covered some of it during the MAGA hat meltdown on the National Mall. New for the media is the ability of individuals to take their stories directly to an infinite number of people. Gone are the days when ignoring an accusation of sexual assault was merely a media lock-out of the accuser. The “Big Three” have no control over what is broadcast to the public. The “networks” can no longer remain complicit in their self serving agenda. This case is a great example of an attempted lock-out by a major outlet that backfired. The story broke on a much smaller service, went viral, and the WaPo found itself defending what’s left of its integrity. If there was ever a tri-fecta in publishing, this is it. It’s also a catch-22 for Democrats who feel beholden to demand punishment for the mere accusation of a crime, because they don’t want to look like hypocrites.

Closing Time

Democrat Politicians are calling for the Lt. Governor to resign, presumably due to the explosive nature of these claims during the #metoo era. It’s admirable that they can carry their demands across party lines and malign their own like they did Kavanaugh.

They. Are. Wrong.

“What?!! Narcissi, say you mistyped that last sentence!”

No, I didn’t.

We do not have the luxury of skipping the Bill of Rights when it supports our politics. Specifically the 1st clause of the 14th Amendment.

  1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law, nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Ignoring the Oath They Swore

These people are acting in their official capacity to remove a person who has merely been accused of a crime. They are working to remove a person from public office based upon how they feel this *might* have gone down (no pun intended). Party affiliation is irrelevant when public officials are willing to bypass an investigation and Due Process protections. It’s a frightening road they are heading down.

The VA Articles for impeachment are as follows,

The Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, judges, members of the State Corporation Commission, and all officers appointed by the Governor or elected by the General Assembly, offending against the Commonwealth by malfeasance in office, corruption, neglect of duty, or other high crime or misdemeanor may be impeached by the House of Delegates and prosecuted before the Senate, which shall have the sole power to try impeachments. When sitting for that purpose, the senators shall be on oath or affirmation, and no person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two-thirds of the senators present. Judgment in case of impeachment shall not extend further than removal from office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the Commonwealth; but the person convicted shall nevertheless be subject to indictment, trial, judgment, and punishment according to law. The Senate may sit during the recess of the General Assembly for the trial of impeachments.

What has the Lt. Gov done that meets the criteria for impeachment? Malfeasance in office? Corruption? Neglect of duty? High Crime or Misdemeanor? NO. Not a single thing. He’s been ACCUSED of something. But not investigated. Not tried. Not convicted.

Yet they demand he be punished.

The Republican Retribution?

The VA Republican response is telling, and offers some hope. Unlike their counterparts across the aisle, they are calling for an actual INVESTIGATION

This makes sense! By all means, PLEASE INVESTIGATE the allegations from these two women. They absolutely should have their claims verified by an investigation. Hopefully one as thorough as Kavanaugh had with his accusers. Most of whom turned out to be false, one unsubstantiated.  As for the rest of the Republicans, including POTUS, they are mostly silent. They probably don’t want to go on the record at this point. But at least they aren’t joining the Lynch Mob. Then again, mob mentality is a hallmark of the Left.

Presidential Hopefuls Should Know Better

One would think that Corey Booker, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, would understand the protections afforded in the Bill of Rights. But they are pandering for Presidential placement in 2020.

Presidential hopeful and ALL WOMEN MUST BE BELIEVED town crier Gillibrand states,

These people want to lead the Executive Branch of the Government. People who are so willing to suspend individual rights, based upon an accusation, want to control the Department of Justice. Seriously, can you think of anything more frightening than the POTUS demanding the forfeiture of an elected office based upon an “accusation.” The only admirable thing about their callous disregard for the Bill of Rights is that it’s equally applied.

But that just means it will be applied to everyone.

The party that likens itself to supporting the disenfranchised and those abused by the justice system and law enforcement are very quick to expunge the protections secured in the Bill of Rights.

We should all be frightened of people so hungry for power that they disregard the rights they swore to uphold and protect.

    SOME of them are. Others have simply demanded (or asked) that he step down. That second bit is just politics. “Dude, you’re making us look bad. You need to clear off.”

    It’s a frightening road they are heading down.
    But it’s one THEY have paved with their “good intentions”. Matthew 7:2.

    And maybe that will prove the truth in the end. Or maybe it will be like a US Senate “investigation”. But, yes, an investigation should be done.
    (Oh, and I hope this investigation goes on quietly, in a prosecutor’s office or the halls of the State Police. I hope it is NOT conducted in the news and in committee hearings. Do it right and well.)

    Most likely, obeying the old adage: When your opponent is shooting himself in the foot, don’t get in the way.

    Oh, they understand them just fine. They don’t care.
    Remember, these are not elected public servants. These are aristocrats (well, technocrats) who rule over us. They view the Constitution as a puppet show that keeps the peasants and merchant class subdued while they get on with the serious business of telling us what to do and profiting from it (in perks and money).

    They are serious, credible, and corroborated by others.

    You keep using that word (corroborated). I don’t think that word means what you think it means.
    (It means to give facts and evidence that back up a first claim. That you told your friends about it 3 years ago is NOT “corroboration”. *Maybe* the ex-boyfriend is corroboration, but he’s hearsay, mostly.)

    Though I’m not that frightened. Because I still have the Second Amendment.

    I’m NOT calling for anyone’s resignation in all of this. Or for impeachment. Nope.
    Simply let Matthew 7:2 play itself out. Then use it without mercy this November and in 2021.
