Fresh off the Jim Acosta wall debacle, CNN turned to a San Diego TV station for a “local view” of the wall controversy. Surely the media in sunny leftwing California would find some sob story that they could use as propaganda news. But CNN doesn’t like the station’s facts or its reporter, so they canned the report.

According to KUSI, CNN turned down their report because they spoke with border patrol agents who said. . . . wait for it. . . that walls work! 

The network especially didn’t like KUSI’s reporter Dan Plante, who’s done multiple reports from the San Diego border.

Plante’s stories include a tour of the border fence which caught the eye of both Newt Gingrich and the Drudge Report. So his reports became the Kiss o’ Death for KUSI’s story being used by CNN.

Nonsense, CNN shot back. A spokesman told The Hill:

“We called several local stations to book someone for a show. We didn’t end up booking any of them. That happens many times every single day. We did, however, book a reporter from KUSI for a story on immigration and the border wall on CNN in November. This is a non story.”

But KUSI wasn’t about to go down quietly:

“We believe CNN declined a report from KUSI because we informed them that most Border Patrol Agents we have spoken to told us the barrier does in fact work. We have continuously been told by Border Patrol Agents that the barrier along the Southern border helps prevent illegal entries, drugs, and weapons from entering the United States, and the numbers prove it.” 

Brian Stelter, who hosts the ironically named “Reliable Sources,” blamed the controversy on Sean Hannity:

“Hannity spreading B.S. about CNN again.”

Whereupon Brian Flood, a Fox News media reporter, responded with this:

“. . . so is Mediaite, the Hill, Breitbart, Drudge, Fox News Digital, Newsbusters, Newsweek, The Blaze, Townhall, etc.”

Yeah, CNN can’t stand the fact that Fox News continually eats their lunch in the ratings wars.

You know, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of girl, which says that the most likely answer to a problem is the simplest. Occam’s Razor would say that walls work at keeping people on their side of the border. It would also say that, since we’ve seen people like Jim Acosta in action, that KUSI is probably correct. CNN threw KUSI under the bus because the smaller network didn’t give them a story that fit their narrative. It’s the simplest — and most correct — observation.

Because “this. . . is CNN.”
