In case you’re thinking that lowering the voting age to 16 is a good idea, then look at the March for Our Lives. The kids marching in this might be savvy on social media, but they know little about real life. Or laws, or the Constitution. But they sure know how to get likes on Instagram and Twitter, so that gives them cred, right?
There is so much derp here I don’t know where to start. What’s sad is that it includes not only kids, but adults, too.
For example, Parkland student Samantha Fuentes vomited at the start of her speech, while the crowd cheered. Why? Because she tossed her cookies? Or because of the rock concert atmosphere?
Shouldn’t they be embarrassed for her? A little empathy, maybe? But no, they just shouted “Never again!”
Not sure if they’re referring to shootings or vomiting on stage — I’ll assume it’s the former.
Anyway, Fuentes recovered and laughed about it. But I wouldn’t have wanted to be the act that followed her on that stage.
And then there were the tweets.
Like the girl who thought that her uterus is more regulated than guns. Seriously. I’ve had my uterus for decades now — even loaded twice with two babies. But I’ve never had to register it.
Or “Bitterchick,” who thinks school dress codes are more restrictive than gun laws. And she’s supposedly a mom, a law graduate, and a member of #LawyersResist. I sincerely hope she doesn’t practice.

And then there’s the fawning adoration for Parkland student activist Emma Gonzalez, who’s all about being famous. Here she’s also the subject of a creepy graphic.

“Read about in textbooks?” Really? Why should we? What has she accomplished, other than being used by progressives and a compliant media?
This tweet from Politico is particularly disturbing. Soviet-style art, anyone?

Yet we’re going to read about her in textbooks — because her signature line, “We call BS,” is so. . . inspirational?
Then there’s the mom who was so proud of her son’s incredibly ignorant poster.

No, the Second Amendment doesn’t ban AR-15 rifles. Maybe this mom should read a summary of District of Columbia v. Heller.
Yes, a gun does provide protection. Otherwise millions of us who legally own them for defense wouldn’t spend the money on them. Or the time spent learning how to use them properly.
And “thoughts and prayers” refer to comfort for the families of victims — from shootings, car accidents, hurricanes — you get the drift. This is nothing more than another slam at religious people. Yeah, so helpful to the debate.
There’s this gem of a poster from some kid who calls himself an “amateur model.”

I know “Hamilton” tickets are expensive and hard to get, but I don’t think you have to complete a background check to buy them, just use an approved credit card.
Finally, listen to Parkland student Alex Wind, who’s afraid that the NRA wants to arm Mickey Mouse at Disney World. Yes, really.
"If teachers start packing heat, are they going to arm our pastors, ministers and rabbis? … Are they going to arm the person wearing the Mickey Mouse costume at Disney? This is what the NRA wants, and we will not stand for it!"

We’ve all heard the axiom, “Hard cases make bad law.” You know what else makes for bad law? Feelings, emotions, and downright ignorance. The March for Our Lives is a perfect example of that.
“We are going to be the kids that you will read about in textbooks”
Loaded into boxcars after they take away your guns??
Exactly! Why these idiots want the first and now second Am taken away is beyond comprehension
They expect to be doing the loading, with us as the loadees.
David Hogg – you knew about the school policy that allowed criminals to thrive at your school but you did nothing. Shame on you.
why do they think anyone believes them that taking guns from lawful gun owners will prevent school shootings? I call BS.
You can bet that Disneyworld security armed Mickey. Starting the first day the park opened.
Yes indeed Mickey is armed as is Disney Security cast and the Orange and Osceola counties sheriff’s deputies. Guns are all over WDW. Thank goodness for that.
I would be in favor of a Constitutional Amendment to make the age for voting in federal elections 21 AND require PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP.
The Children’s Crusade of 1212
The most re-told version of this Crusade is that a child, either in France or Germany, described a vision of thousands of children marching to the Holy Land and peacefully converting al the Muslims into Christians.
What really happened is still contested by historians but the majority of the pilgrims sailed on ships bound for the Holy Land, only to land in Tunisia and sold into slavery. Others died in shipwrecks. Those who survived wandered Europe, homeless, begging for food, never to return home.
They were betrayed by the adults in their ranks.

Whenever I mention genocide, or tyranny, or any reason why we should oppose gun control, the response is the same:
“That can’t happen here.”
Why I oppose gun control.

Is there a problem with pastors being armed? I know lots of them that wouldn’t be UNARMED. These kids need a good slap upside the head.
schindlers list should be required viewing for all high school students
its a cautionary tale about what happens when only the police and military have guns
Posted this elsewhere, but kids like these get me depressed, thinking I wasted 23 years of my life serving in the military trying to preserve the rights I enjoyed as an American for future generations.
Seeing these folks demanding the government take their rights away is disheartening.
Then I remember the Huey P Newton Gun Club and realize some folks really do appreciate their rights. Even if they’re fellow Americans I disagree with fundamentally on many issues, but they are fellow Americans.
I can’t help but wonder how those JROTC students who got killed, kids contemplating the same career I chose and probably for the same reasons, would feel and think about folks using their deaths as an excuse to degrade the rights of Americans.
