A national tragedy is almost a week-old. Despite what (most of us) know and understand about the information given to us about Omar Mateen and his motivations, the war of ideologies continues in the United States. A fog that separates us and a narrative that continues to increase the gap in the great divide. Of course, the sermon by Roger Jimenez of Verity Baptist in Sacramento, California did not do right by every day Christian Conservatives who were deeply saddened by this tragedy.
“Are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?” Um no, I think that’s great! I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida is a little safer tonight.”-Roger Jimenez
Leave it to one “Christian” to define a whole denomination. This sermon alone defined the Left’s definition of what it means to be a Christian in The United States of America. Jimenez’s sermon fit properly into the neat little box of what the liberal media and liberal American masses would like to define as Conservative Christian bigotry and one of the (many) things that is wrong with our country. With Conservative Christians who possess an anti-gay agenda as part of the population, what difference does it make if the act of terror at Pulse in Orlando was carried out by a (radical) Christian or a (radical) Muslim? The lines continue to blur. In reality, most Christians can distinguish between an individual who belongs to the LGBT community and a pedophile…but that’s another story for another time. Jonah Goldberg of National Review addresses a stellar point:
Let’s flip it around. Imagine if an Islamist nutter went to the convent of the Little Sisters of the Poor and murdered a bunch of nuns (alas, hardly an unimaginable hypothetical). Would I be right to say that the New York Times and its allied Brain Trusts have no right to be outraged? After all, liberals have heaped scorn and contempt on those nuns for their effrontery in not wanting to be forced to pay for birth control. Or what if an Islamist shot up a Baptist Church or Koch headquarters or the Washington office of AIPAC?
To borrow a phrase from the New York Times, hatred for Christians, libertarians, Zionists, and other political minorities doesn’t “occur in a vacuum.” The Times has been fanning the flames of such demonization for decades; surely they would share some of the blame when an emotionally unstable Muslim, inspired by ISIS, took it upon himself to slaughter innocent people. No, the analogy isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t need to be because there’s a lot of margin for error when comparing competing idiocies. It’s incredibly stupid to use a hair dryer in a bathtub. It’s also incredibly stupid to try to take a selfie with a grizzly bear nursing its cubs. The two things are hard to compare on the basic fact patterns, but what they share equally is a fatal idiocy. I’m against polygamy. But I’m also against people in polygamous marriages being slaughtered by terrorists. And I will not budge one fraction of a fraction of a millimeter off of that position if a terrorist slaughters a whole bunch of people in polygamous marriages, even if some of the victims — or all of them — thought the laws against polygamy should change.
Goldberg’s commentary is nothing short of epic and you can read the rest here. Combine Fundamental Christian homophobia with the myth that a lone wolf attack “could not be of ISIS”, mix vigorously with the belief that far too many people could get their hands on guns in this country, muddle in the fact that our very own President of The United States can’t spit out “Radical Islam” and you’ve got one hell of a cocktail that will keep the left drunk for decades. And yes, thanks to bad representations of the Christian faith, American Christians have been called-out on “scapegoating” Islam:
The Orlando shooting is not an opportunity to absolve conservatives who have railed against LGBT equality for years. If they truly care about the fate of LGBT people, they have a responsibility to account for their own contributions to discrimination and stigma. Scapegoating Islam is nothing more than a distraction from having a real conversation about the actual experience of LGBT people when they aren’t being massacred in the sanctuary of a nightclub.–Zack Ford, Think Progress
Was Chick-Fil-A (AKA “Hate Chicken” in the Progressive community) looking for absolution?

How about the millions of Christians worldwide who have prayed over this tragedy? And what of the millions of Christians who have members of their family who belong to the LGBT community who were inside of that club or could someday, God forbid, be in a similar situation? Were they looking for absolution? There is a difference between Conservative Christians who read their Bible and do their daily prayers and devotions and happen to do life with other like-minded individuals and straight-up Bibical lunacy as we see in sermons like Jimenez’s but the left continues to blur these lines of distinction. Abiding Christians may not agree with the LGBT lifestyle. Abiding Christians know that the lifestyle is not something they may necessarily want for themselves. I happen to know a few abiding Christians who have sons and daughters in the LGBT community and while they would not choose this lifestyle for their own child, they continue to love their child regardless of the choices he or she may make as an adult.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.- 1 Corninthians 13:13
To the Left, the above Bibical quote is indistinguishable from this:
This:
And this:
Just because he looks like this:
And there you have it. Conservative Christians and Islamic Terrorists. Completely indistinguishable, don’t you agree?
It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World
The murder of Jo Cox in Britain is, as we are urged by the Determinist Left to understand it, the result of the free expression of Right wing political attitudes that ought be contained if not banned outright.
The murder of forty-nine homosxuals though, is neither the fault of Islam, nor its sacred scriptures explicitly calling for death to homosexuals and infidels (and infidelles), nor the adherent Muslims who take the scriptures as obvious calls to murder homosexuals and infidels (and infidelles).
At best, the Left may attribute the mayhem in Orlando as the play place violence of a homo-erotically repressed homosexual Muslim who was off his nut.
For anyone, ANYONE, A-N-Y-O-N-E to insist on the political dichotomization of essentially the same crime, in this case murder, by blatantly incriminating their political foes (who had nothing to do with it nor had they ever called for it) in the first instance; and assenting to exempt their Islamic/Muslim allies in the second instance is either full blown insanity or treachery. In either case they do not warrant a hearing. They warrant, respectively, institutionalization… or a hanging.
Sadly, Leftists think that Conservatives and Christians are much, much worse than Islamists. The political Left will do all they can to defend Islam, even after their own voters are killed.
Because Christianity must be destroyed. It is the basis for all that is good in the world. Obviously it must go.
