‘we will not submit’

‘we will not submit’

from the family of pfc bowe bergdahl of hailey, idaho.

“We hope and pray for our son’s safe return to his comrades and then to our family, and we appreciate all the support and expressions of sympathy shown to us by our family members, our friends and others across the nation. Thank you, and please continue to keep Bowe in your thoughts and prayers.”

by now you know that bowe is being held by the accomplices of osama bin laden, the taliban, who are vicious, murderous tribal thugs keeping their people oppressed by brutality, humiliation, poverty, and fear.

yes, there are questions about how bowe left and why but the fact is, he is still an american soldier being held against his will and in most of cases, these things don’t end well.

the video of bowe is sad and you can watch it here if you want. i didn’t want to post it. bowe is only 23 years old and in it he says this:

“I’m scared. I’m scared I won’t be able to go home. It’s very unnerving to be a prisoner. I have my girlfriend who I was hoping to marry, I have my grandma and grandpas, I have a very very good family that I love back home in America.”

pray hard for bowe, that we can get him safely home and sort things out on US soil. and here’s hoping we kill those murderous bastards who would use him for propaganda purposes while they contemplate sawing off his head for sport.

This kid was a deserter after just a short time. Don’t call him a hero please. My son was there for 18 months in 2004-5.

  • kate says:

hey dania. yes he very well may be a deserter, but he’s OUR deserter. we need to find him and safely bring him home — and kill those who held him, no questions asked.

  • Jane says:

I wonder why it’s necessary for you to be as hungry for blood as the Taliban? Why are we more human then they when you write sentences like this:

“here’s hoping we kill those murderous bastards who would use him for propaganda purposes” and “kill those who held him, no questions asked.” Now WHO exactly is the murderous thug?

I want this young man home. But he is most likely a deserter who was tresspassing into their territory and represented a threat to them. I somewhat understand them holding him. Don’t you?

  • Paul says:

I see that Faux News really step in sh*t this weekend over this soldier. They had that fanatic hawk Ralph Peters on who basically called for this kid to be executed by the Taliban because he deserted his unit! And in true Faux style, they had a bimbo interviewing who could hardly keep up so his insanity was basically unchallenged. You can see it here if you didn’t have the unfortunate experience of watching it live like I did.

  • PenniePan says:

This is horrible. All we know is that this soldier was kidnapped by the Taliban. Right? So how does his family feel when they hear an American military analyst for Faux News say something like this??? I am sure they are devistated and rightly so. Ralph Peters should be hung by his testes until they shrivel up and fall off (assuming he still has them).

  • kate says:

pennie please don’t act like you are concerned for our military in harm’s way. that is so incredibly faux of you.

  • Paul says:

I suppose Kate this is really just an example of the hypocracy of the right wing: You flag wave ad nauseaum, you are chicken hawks shouting “WAR!”, and you think you corner the market on support of the military and patriotism yet…

One of the conservative analysts on a right wing network calls for the execution of an American soldier suspected (MAYBE) of desertion while in the hands of the Taliban!!!! THAT is un patriotic and very un American.

  • Jane said: I want this young man home. But he is most likely a deserter who was tresspassing into their territory and represented a threat to them. I somewhat understand them holding him. Don’t you?

It would have been better if you had stopped after the first sentence in this quote. Because it doesn’t matter what he was doing or where he was. Imagine if this was what you said:

But he is most likely a runaway who was trespassing into their gang territory and represented a threat to them.

Would you still understand how the gang feels? Would that change how you feel? Is it because it’s alleged that he is a deserter that makes it OK in your book that he be kidnapped, tortured and likely will be executed?

What about how our soldier and his family feels right now. Whatever he’s done or not done – he’s an American citizen being held by a terrorist organization.

By all means necessary we need to get him home.

  • Oh yes Paul – because one person speaks for everyone.

  • Gypsy says:

Kris obviously he DOES speak for everyone. Why did Fox News allow this person to go unchallenged? Shame on him and them. Why is Fox still on the air? They do their best to cater for their audience: the nazis and the nutzies.

  • Jeremy says:

Let’s have a prisoner exchange: Ralph Peters for PFC. Bergdahl.

  • It’s liberals who assume someone like Peters speaks for all conservatives. He doesn’t speak for me that’s for sure. He’s an embarrassment – everyone has them.

Ted Kennedy or John Kerry anyone?

Why is CNN still on the air? Why does anyone listen to anyone in the MSM anymore?

  • cassiopeia says:

Well after what has happened with torture in Guantanemo Bay you can bet this Soldier will be tortured. We rang that bell damn it.

  • BikerDan says:

Well I think it was really a dumb and insensitive comment made by the analyst but I believe he was an officer so may have very strong feelings about desertion and what it does to the unit’s morale.

I know as career military we hated deserters but they were ours and we wanted to deal with them. You can be sure those soldiers and marines looking for him over there are not leaving any stone unturned because he is still one of them and they don’t want him in the hands of the enemy.

We also don’t have all the facts yet. I would bet the military and those in his unit know a lot more about this kid then we do. We need to pray that we find him soon.

  • Gene says:

this idiot wandered off in taliban controlled territory. what did he think would happen? he’s just putting other soldier’s lives in danger while he’s having a mental breakdown or something. he’s a selfish and dangerous idiot.

  • micky says:

The fact is that none of us know what the pertinent facts are yet, as only what the media has reported and what weve seen on a staged video is whats evident so far.
What’s a fact is that Peters has more inside intel, knows more about protocol and procedure in the field along with also having more connections on that particular base than any of us. He does know for a fact that a trooper in this situation should not of either been alone, lagging behind or abandoned his post. If any of that is true and this trooper is collaborating or in cahouts with the enemy, then Peters anger is justified.
If it turns out that the trooper was kidnapped and is in fact a propogandized victim of radical Muslims/Taliban forces then Peters is a contemptuous prick and I’d be the first to tell him to his face.
Maybe we should all hold off on convicting anyone before on of us ends up with a healthy serving of crow ?
I myself am leaning towards the opion that this trooper maybe wasnt all that bright, wrong place, wrong time, naive, whatever.
What confusing to me is that as long as I’ve listened to Peters give his contributions they’ve always been highly accurate and substantive. Until now I’ve never seen him as hostile as this towards a trooper.
If I’m correct, this is the first time any trooper has been kidnapped inside Afghanistan, that right there gives license to a big question mark.

  • lisab says:

“But he is most likely a deserter who was tresspassing into their territory and represented a threat to them.”

if he was deserting then he was not a threat to them, n’est-ce pas?

  • Dade says:

That poor kid. I saw that video and it broke my heart.

  • Paul says:

Micky you are wrong on so many points, I don’t know where to start.

    He’s a paratrooper not a trooper.

We do know some facts because the the pentagon and boots on the ground have given information independent of reporters.

Peters anger is NOT justified for any reason. He is not active military. How would he like it if that kid was a member of his family and he was hearing some analyst say execute him while his wellbeing is still unknown. He and all the analysts should STFU and let the military do their job and get this kid home and deal with him through the military justice system.

  • Jim says:

It seems to me that everybody needs to STFU about this soldier. I get sick of blaming the victim by a bunch of idiots who want air time on TV.

*Micky* “I myself am leaning towards the opion that this trooper maybe wasnt all that bright, wrong place, wrong time, naive, whatever.” I guess you must be talking about yourself not being bright, in the wrong place, time, etc? This is a PFC who should know better then being alone outside the wall.

  • micky says:

    “He’s a paratrooper not a trooper. ”

Uh… hes still a trooper. He didnt drop in by chute, did he ? Tell me I’m wrong.

“We do know some facts because the the pentagon and boots on the ground have given information independent of reporters.

    And those would be ?

“Peters anger is NOT justified for any reason. He is not active military. ”

So let me get this right. I cant be angry because I’m not active/enlisted ?

“How would he like it if that kid was a member of his family and he was hearing some analyst say execute him while his wellbeing is still unknown.”

He only reiterated about 5 times “IF” and only “IF” this trooper was cosorting with the enemy should anything happen to him.

Dont make it personal, if it were my kid, I’d be concerned too, but until the trooper is rescued and we all know exactly what happened we ought to save it.

“He and all the analysts should STFU and let the military do their job and get this kid home and deal with him through the military justice system.”

No, were allowed to say what we want without passing judgement til the facts are in.

    Now whos wrong ?
    ——————————————
    Jim.
I’m offering the benfit of the doubt to our soldier who is human and makes mistakes. Part of that comes from parts of all of us that are not that bright at times. He did qualify for service, passed training etc…
I dont claim to be any smarter than you or anyone else but can tell you without a doubt I’m no idiot who has still done some stupid things, like replying to you since you really dont have all the facts in yet either, but are all too quick to label anyone as anything, victim or not.

    Jim;
“This is a PFC who should know better then being alone outside the wall.”

Hey your brightness ! , didnt you kinda make my point for me ?
