Omarosa, do not ask Omarosa, who has a new book coming out. The title “Unhinged” is appropriate on so many levels, but you already know that. The hook for publicity for the book is that Omarosa “secretly” taped President Donald Trump on her phone.
“Unhinged” will launch next week, August 14, 2018. And you know what that means? That means that the galactically grating Omarosa will be on every form of media in the known universe. Lord, save us all. She will condescend to be on the legacy media shows and every Never Trumper podcast that will meet her Diva Demands.
And the most salacious detail that will have the rabid curs of the press drooling? Omarosa has been hinting that she has secret tapes since right after her firing in December, 2017. Thank you, Chief of Staff John Kelly. “Uproxx” reported in mid-January:
According to the NY Daily News, former Apprentice star and questionable White House staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman may have taped confidential conversations during her stint in the West Wing, and this prompts worries that she may be next to get wrapped up in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe. Although Manigault-Newman was technically fired in December amid reports of behind-the-scenes drama, her last day is actually Saturday, January 20.
What’s worse, Manigault-Newman is said to be lawyering up, and has reportedly already conducted exploratory meetings with Harvey Weinstein’s former attorney Lisa Bloom and former counsel for Bill Cosby, just to start.
“Everyone knows Omarosa loves to record people and meetings using the voice notes app on her iPhone,” a source disclosed. “Don’t be surprised if she has secret audio files on everyone in that White House, past and present staffers included.”
Remember when you first saw Omarosa on Season One of “The Apprentice” back in 2004? She was mean, lying, cruel and manipulative. She made for okay, not my cuppa, television. She’s best as a one-bite appetizer. I have never been able to watch her since, personally, and I never understood Trump’s decision to bring her into the campaign. It’s not like he doesn’t know other black women, despite what the Never Trumpers think.
Are the Omarosa White House tapes explosive? Here is how the “Daily Beast” is reporting “the tapes:”
…Audio actually does exist, and even stars Manigault’s former boss.
One person confirmed to The Daily Beast they had heard at least one of her recordings featuring President Trump. Multiple sources familiar with the so-called “Omarosa tapes” described the recorded conversations between Trump and Manigault as anodyne, everyday chatter, but said they did appear to feature Trump’s voice, either over the phone or in-person.
So, there is nothing in the tapes of interest, but the media will use the tapes to show Omarosa talked to President Trump. Oh, yeah, they will be positively frothing.
And, speaking of condescending and unhinged, MSNBC, God forgive me, reveled in the psychodrama in this video:
Nah, I couldn’t watch the whole thing, either.
I have been a fan of Donald Trump the builder since I first stood in front of the Henri Bendel store on Fifth Avenue and saw Trump Tower for the first time. That was about 1992, I would guess. Other than Omarosa (eeeww), I did enjoy a few seasons of “The Apprentice.” It just got old for me. I wasn’t sure that Donald Trump could President. Most days, he can President. Some days, he cannot. But, he is still head and shoulders above Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Amen.
Here is the bottom line for me: I know that Washington, D.C. has a one-party consent law for taping a conversation. It just seems to me that there has got to be some kind of White House employee confidentially agreement that specifically says, “You may not secretly tape the President or any other Administration employee.” If they don’t have that, the White House lawyers should hop to it right now.
I don’t believe you will see “Unhinged” as one of the new Victory Girls’ book review series. And, by the way, did you read Marta’s review of “Alexander Hamilton?” You should. Read it right here.
As for Omarosa, to quote Robin Roberts: “Bye, Felicia.”
Fleeting fame can be a harsh mistress.
Harvey Weinstein’s former attorney Lisa Bloom and former counsel for Bill Cosby
So, she picked a winner there, huh? Did she grab someone by the short hairs while in the WH? *scratching my head*
Remember when you first saw Omarosa on Season One of “The Apprentice” back in 2004?
Nope. I didn’t like the show.
Washington, D.C. has a one party consent law
Ah. That’s a bit surprising, actually. You would think DC would be adamantly against recording *ANYONE* without a warrant, at the least.
White House employee confidentially agreement
Hmmm, it should. There used to be a delayed-publishing agreement, too. You couldn’t publish any books until a year later or something. (Maybe she’s past that, after 6 months.)
