Trial Date Set – Let’s Talk Election Interference

The trial date is set for the day before Super Tuesday. Let’s talk about election interference. President Donald Trump’s trial on charges of conspiring to “overturn” the 2020 Presidential Election is scheduled to begin March 4, 2024, the day before Super Tuesday. Judge Tanya S. Chutkin either has no sense of irony OR she really truly despises the entire United States judicial system so much that she isn’t trying to hide it. Democrats have been dying of thirst for this trial for two years and here it comes, finally, in just six months. If you’re not ready to throw a conniption, you are dead or a Democrat, or both.

CNN’s Dana Bash actually says with a straight face that the Judge has set the country on a legal and political collision. Like she hasn’t been on her knees every night praying to the Sweet Baby Jesus for this:

From the New York Times:

The federal judge overseeing former President Donald J. Trump’s prosecution on charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election set a trial date on Monday for early March, laying out a schedule that was close to the government’s initial request of January and that rebuffed Mr. Trump’s extraordinary proposal to push off the proceeding until nearly a year and a half after the 2024 election.
The decision by Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, issued at a contentious hearing in Federal District Court in Washington, to start the trial on March 4 potentially brought it into conflict with two other trials that Mr. Trump is facing that month.
The district attorney in Fulton County, Ga., has proposed taking Mr. Trump to trial on charges of tampering with the election in that state on the same day. A second trial in Manhattan, in which Mr. Trump has been accused of more than 30 felonies connected to hush-money payments to a porn actress in the run-up the 2016 election, is set to go to trial on March 25.
While Judge Chutkan noted that she had already spoken to the judge in the Manhattan case, the fact that three of the four criminal cases confronting Mr. Trump could go before separate juries in separate cities within weeks of one another reflects the extraordinary nature of the former president’s legal situation.

Lord, these people. The “extraordinary nature” of this man’s legal situation? Another group of made up charges that began with the Steele Dossier. The Deep State and the Media Industrial Complex colluded to create this “extraordinary nature”. You think that the Deep State cannot make something up out of whole cloth, ask Tulsi Gabbard about being a Russian asset. That’s part of why I think it’s adorably naive to think any Republican candidate has any chance in the 2024 Presidential election. Oh, I’m still playing the game, but I am not kidding myself. I know that the Democrat candidate will win. It may be a Joe Biden retread, Kamala Harris or Governor Gavin Newsom. It won’t be Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley or Asa Hutchinson or any other Republican. I am still buying the campaign merchandise for this circus.

Judge Chutkin is just going to forget about all of the January 6 victims of the Fedsurrection mouldering away in the jail:

Over at Twitchy, the Foo is right, yet again:

Y’all think Trump brings the chaos. Phooey. The man built big freaking buildings for decades. The chaos got brought to him. He could have been like George the Father and George the Son or like Mitt Romney and just taken the hits, but some of us wanted a heavyweight fighter. I don’t know why y’all aren’t mad. I am so mad I could chew steel and spit nails. I get that you despise the existence of Donald Trump, but this is election interference and not at all about him. It’s about the your children’s future. Get mad.

Speaking of “heavy weight” – does anyone really believe that Donald Trump is 215lbs as he put down as his weight? My guess is he is anywhere from 250 – 260lbs.

Oh lovely. Now I can hear Maxine Waters in my head. “HE LIED ABOUT HIS WEIGHT! AH’M O’ IMPEECH HIM!”

Democrats have run opposition every single time a Republican has successfully run for President for a long time. Not once has it ever been thought of as a “threat to our sacred democracy.” I hope that the kangaroo courts are brought to account over this.

  • Taylor says:

Donald Trump is not a heavyweight fighter, he’s a brawler, and he doesn’t have the common sense to know which fights to avoid because they are not worth fighting. Fighting with for example Rosie O’Donnell is absurd.

    Everything you say is true.
    However.
Way back at the beginning of the Republic, a guy names Washington refused to continue to hold power even when he might have been a new de-facto king. Because he had the interest of the country at heart.
    Contrast this with Trump.
This is about his ego. He might have been robbed (he probably was).
The Democratic party is unbelievably corrupt…yet choosing between what is best for the country and his ego, what has he chosen? His running, however horribly terrible the opposition, is more about him than us,
I am saying this as a Trump fan. He did a great job as president (my spouse was a wing commander, and he was a big fan yet he also agrees with me)
I will vote for him if he and Biden are the only contenders. Still, if he wanted the best for the country he could serve a different role. But he hasn’t. It is all about him. I love Melania and she hasn’t said much (nor has his very supportive daughter, at least from what I’ve read…might be missing something, I can’t read everything)

    • Liz says:

fwiw, we have also given money to Trump’s defense fund.
I’m not a casual observer here. Yet what I say is true.
