Unless you’ve been living in a cellar somewhere in Hobbiton, you’re well aware that Bill O’Reilly was booted from Fox News after a New York Times article outed the many settlements the former host made with women who claim he sexually harassed them. To say that the ousting shocked cable news could be the understatement of the year thus far. And not only was O’Reilly abruptly fired, he didn’t say goodbye—either by choice or by force—to his legions of viewers, many of whom were left angry and confused.

I'm boycotting FoxNews. I loved me some #OReillyFactor. I watch faithfully for 15 years.

In response to his firing, last evening O’Reilly emerged from the scandal, speaking in a podcast on billoreilly.com:

Naturally, the Resistance weighed in:
If I were #MAGA , I'd want #oreillyfactor live from the #WhiteHouse . It would be a forum for sexual harassers, and racists. #TheResistance

Sure. Or Chappaqua, complete with segments featuring Hillary Clinton bullying Bill’s accusers. By the way, what these jackwagons are resisting is still a mystery to me, but I digress…
Suffice it to say, Mr. O’Reilly remains defiant, insisting that the “truth will come out.”
I’ve been a target of sexual harassment. It’s ugly; it’s life-altering; and many women like me find ourselves stuck in a situation where our livelihoods outweigh taking a stand against our harassers. Not all of us have the luxury of leaving. So while I won’t defend Mr. O’Reilly—if he did what he’s accused of, his departure was necessary—I am nevertheless interested in hearing his side of this sordid story. I think that’s only fair.
Meanwhile, cue Andrea Tantaros. In case you’re unaware, she’s one of the women whose claims of sexual harassment by former Fox CEO Roger Ailes helped spark the network’s ongoing sexual harassment kerfuffle. And she’s just raised yet another issue in a fresh new lawsuit, one that if proven true is beyond disturbing. From Bloomberg:
Former Fox News host Andrea Tantaros stepped up her fight with her ex-employer claiming in a new lawsuit that she was a victim of hacking, electronic surveillance and a social media harassment campaign that mirrors the plot of a “Homeland” episode.
Fox News operatives broke into her personal computer, planted key-logging and other surveillance software on it and then used the information “to intimidate, terrorize and crush her career through an endless stream of lewd, offensive and career-damaging social media posts, blog entries and commentary,” Tantaros claims in the lawsuit.
Holy smokes, Peter Quinn!
Of course, Fox News representatives deny Tantaros’ claims, as one would expect from a network embroiled in lawsuits. They refuted the Ailes sexual harassment claims, too, even as they were settling with former host, Gretchen Carlson, for a reported boatload of cash.
As a side note: wouldn’t it be the height of irony if the network did indeed spy on Ms. Tantaros given its continued, and laudable, coverage of the Trump/Obama wiretapping story? Curiouser and curiouser.
I could be wrong, but methinks Fox News is in trouble. Coupled with the ongoing scandals, the network’s been taking a decided lurch to the left for a while now. Its recent hires include liberal loon Bob Beckel—who was fired from the network only to return to The Five earlier this year—and Marie “Jobs For Jihadis” Harf, who’s little more than a cheerleader for her former employer, the Obama Administration. Fox has lost three of its biggest anchors in less than a year, is losing the 9 pm ET Ratings War to the likes of Rachel Maddow—does anyone think The Five will compete with, well, anyone?—and has no one of their caliber with which to replace them. Only time will tell whether the network survives at the hands of its current liberal leadership—who seem more interested in the opinions of their limousine liberal friends than their loyal viewers—or goes the way of the dodo, morphing into a CNN/MSNBC lookalike.
The Left is hell bent on silencing conservative voices, and FOX News—once the go-to network for reliable, balanced reporting—is adding more liberal commentators by the day, much to the annoyance of viewers like myself whose only island of sanity in a sea of liberal media was FOX News. Here’s hoping someone steps up to fill the void the Murdoch boys and their wives look to be creating. Who knows. Perhaps a new business venture for the Trump boys is on the horizon.
Same thing is happening at the White House. Libs are pushing out conservatives. The only Republican in the Trump family is our President, & his kids are trying to fix that. If Trump boys create a news network it will be just like CNN.
I have to admit, the only reason I watched “One Lucky Guy” at Noon on Fox was to look at Andrea’s lovely legs as she sat in the right-most chair.
