maybe its a bad reaction i am having to the puffery of mike huckabee after his straw poll win at the values voters summit but…what do ron paul and sarah palin have in common? some say its ted nugent! all three are conservatives with strong libertarian streaks. and just like ted nugent, they demonstrate their conservative beliefs in very different ways:
ron paul is a sincere policy wonk who focuses like a laser on economics and foreign policy. i think ron paul often makes a lot of sense however the parts i disagree with him on are huge and the paultards are a bit scary!
and sarah palin? well she comes to her conservative beliefs instinctually – rooted in her christian faith and common sense. she really is a natural libertarian who believes in limited government, free markets and individual liberty just because it’s right. 🙂
nugent, palin and paul all three reject a style of federalism that says ‘one size fits all’ because they recognize that’s the antithesis to individual freedoms and empowerment and embrace tax reform and state sovereignty under the 10th amendment. some say ted nugent, ron paul and sarah palin are crazy. others like me – a social conservative with a libertarian bent – find their ideas more then provocative and essential in forming our more perfect union.

Kate so the only relation I really see between Paul, Palin and Nugent is that they are independent thinkers. I see their libertarianism and I know Nugent loves Palin. I am not so sure what Ron Paul thinks about her but I bet he digs her too.
Huckabee. Out of respect for you I won’t use the name I have for him (which requires one to replace the H with an F). I blame him for us getting John McCain. He better not even think about running again. I will need Valium, extra strength.

He belongs in another time warp with all of his anarchist supporters. Sarah Palin is not a Republican or a Libertarian-she is a Conservative first and foremost. Ron Paul on the other hand doesn’t have the respect he should have in the GOP because he isn’t one of the born again’s. He’s really a brilliant thinker. He’s better suited in the Green party except for some of his tax reform ideas and issues.

Romney is probably the best of the lot, but that’s not saying much. At least he has some sense, whereas the others don’t have any.

You Christians let Israel get away with anything because of the whole God thing. You don’t even question their policies or their actions whatsoever. Dr. Paul believes that Israel needs as much scrutiny as any other country and that they need to be responsible for their actions NOT just unilaterally protected by the U.S. Dr. Paul has fought for this for 30 years. He would push Israel from the nest to fight her own battles and learn to get along with her neighbors instead of running roughshod over them. Can you imagine Sarah Palin dealing with the Middle East?? I can’t. She thinks Israel is still the land of milk and honey from the Bible and the place where Jesus walked.
