After watching yesterday’s brutal grilling of Secret Service Director Julia Pierson for the number of recent lapses and past cover-ups of security failures, one had to wonder how long she could last in her job.
She just answered that question herself by resigning.

Per Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, Joseph Clancy, former Special Agent in Charge of the Presidential Protection Division, has been appointed as interim director.

Here is hoping that the bipartisan avalanche of disdain triggers some real reforms within the Secret Service.
In the meantime, the alleged fence jumper, Omar Gonzalez, has pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of entering a restricted building or grounds with a deadly weapon.
