Susie Wiles, President-elect Trump’s current campaign co-chair has been appointed as his White House Chief of Staff. Paging Mark Cuban!
Susie Wiles helped steer Trump to a very, and I mean VERY decisive victory on Tuesday.
President-elect Donald J. Trump on Thursday named Susie Wiles, the Florida strategist who has run his political operation for nearly four years, as his White House chief of staff for his incoming administration.
In choosing Ms. Wiles, Mr. Trump turned to an aide he knows well and who has worked closely with him, understands how he operates, is close with his family and to whom most of his current team is loyal. She will be the first woman ever to hold the job.
In addition to having run his political operation through a winning campaign, she has helped deal with the lawyers on his various criminal and civil cases.
Her credentials (which I’ll get to later) are stellar with a depth of experience from the Reagan years to now.

As I mentioned above, her credentials are impressive. She started in 1980 as a scheduler in Florida for Ronald Reagan, and has gone on to build an impressive political consultant resume. One of the reasons she interviewed with and then ultimately accepted the job with Trump in 2015 is that she felt the party and country needed someone to shake things up.
Wiles first met Trump in the summer of 2015 at Trump Tower during the Republican presidential primary, at the suggestion of Brian Ballard, a Florida GOP lobbyist with whom she worked for more than a decade. At the end of their conversation, Trump told her: “I just think it’s too early to get involved in Florida.” Wiles politely disagreed. They shook hands and she went home. She was in bed one night not long after when the phone rang. Trump wanted her to be co-chair of his campaign’s Florida operation.
After Trump won the primary, Wiles was promoted to a communications job at the headquarters in New York. But with Florida looking challenging against Democrat Hillary Clinton, Wiles was asked to run the general election effort in the state.

At one point in 2016, Trump thought he should be doing better in Florida and chewed out Wiles, saying she was low energy and too quiet. Wiles pushed back, telling Trump that if he wanted someone to set their hair on fire, she wasn’t the person for the job. But if he wanted to win Florida, she said, then he should let her do her job.
Given that Trump took Florida in 2016 with 49% of the vote, I’d say Wiles proved her point and then some. That win started Florida back on track to turn red, which it did incredibly decisively on Tuesday. Even Miami-Dade went red, which just a few years ago would’ve been unheard of.
Yet we’ve been treated to years of the Democrat media complex informing us at the top of their lungs that Trump is a misogynist who enjoys insulting women and is horribly afraid of strong women.
Enter Mark Cuban.
I’ll admit, when I heard that Mark Cuban claimed that Donald Trump is intimidated by strong women, I laughed myself silly.

Pat Summerall’s daughter Susie Wiles has been named Donald Trump’s White House Chief of Staff.

As those of us who live in reality know, Trump is surrounded by and supports strong women whether its his wife, his daughters, daughters-in-law, campaign managers (Kellyanne Conway and Susie Wiles), and many more.
I was greatly amused to see Susie, who rarely posts politically on social media, issue a smackdown of Cuban the next day.
I’m told @mcuban needs help identifying the strong and intelligent women surrounding Pres. Trump. Well, here we are! I’ve been proud to lead this campaign. Complimented by @Linda_McMahon,Chair for Transition Policy and @LaraLeaTrump,RNC Co-Chair. pic.twitter.com/X7y9q3WsG8

He then attempted an apology, one that rang very hollow. I mean, how DARE anyone criticize me for insulting those pesky women??!!
“What bothers me though is that so many of the comments or media, in support of, or against me, has some level of insult attached to it. Not just here. But everywhere,” he said in his apology statement.
“I’m not blaming anyone. We are where we are,” he continued.
“Here is hoping that changes at least a little bit in a week. In the spirit of joy … I have to add that all the AI memes of me with the long hair crack me up. So there is a positive!
Alysah Farah Griffin attempted to bat cleanup and ended up digging a deeper hole for both herself and Mark Cuban.
I’d say if I actually thought this was a dig at Republican women. It’s not. @mcuban is one of the most consistently decent people in public life, he supported @NikkiHaley – a conservative woman in the primary.

Can you imagine what he’s thinking now that Susie has been appointed as Trump’s White House Chief of Staff?? A WOMAN! The first one to EVER hold that position!

Susie Wiles is a tried and true professional.
There are few folks who have survived as long in Trump’s orbit or have the President’s trust as much as Susie. pic.twitter.com/INdtAle8qZ
Yeah son. You stepped on all the rakes and twice on Sunday.
From all accounts, Susie is smart, tough, and disciplined. So disciplined that she flew WAY under the radar during the campaign. Those strengths showed in how this 2024 campaign was run compared to the 2016 and 2020 campaigns.
Check out this video from 4 years ago featuring Susie Wiles, now Trump’s chief of staff, discussing her game-changing strategy to make Trump’s campaign more inclusive and welcome minority voters.

Insightful then, impactful now!https://t.co/rko2AMcLBF
Susie Wiles is an excellent choice for another reason. If how the campaign was run is any indication, the Trump White House will be well served with Susie Wiles as White House Chief of Staff.
