School And Mental Health Officials Knew For Eighteen Months That Cruz Was Dangerous [VIDEO]

While David Hogg is promoting anti-NRA ads, plus getting rejection letters from colleges, and Kyle Kashuv is working hard with members of Congress on actionable legislation, we find out from Broward County’s Sun Sentinel that authorities knew for YEARS just how volatile Nicholas Cruz was.

Eighteen months before Nikolas Cruz shot up Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, staff were so worried about his fascination with guns that they banned him from practicing shooting skills with the JROTC, according to mental health records obtained by the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

A safety plan created by the school for Cruz in September 2016 also prohibited him from carrying a backpack on campus. [Emphasis Added]

Did y’all catch that? The school administration had KNOWN how volatile Cruz was since 2016! Eighteen LONG months before his attack on the school.

We’ve talked about the failures of law enforcement before. Does the sixty-six calls with nothing to show ring any bells?

Oh, but wait, there is more. So much more to the failures that led to Cruz’s attack:

  1. Records show counselors visited Cruz’s home multiple times in ONE month – September 2016
  2. Department of Children and Families also conducted an investigation into Cruz
  3. Psychiatrists (multiple) recommended that Cruz be placed into a residential treatment family in 2013. He was 14 at the time
  4. Cruz attended an alternative school, Cross Creek School in 2014
  5. A psych memo from that school described him as angry, attention seeking, threatens to hurt others, and says problems began in 2004 when he watched his father die from a heart attack

The Sheriff’s office, along with DCF, and multiple mental health officials investigated Cruz over the course of one week because he had

  • threatened to cut himself several times
  • was verbally aggressive and punching holes in walls
  • cut himself and threatened to cut himself
  • supposedly drank gasoline in an effort to kill himself
  • wrote about killing in his notebook

But was the Baker Act implemented? Nope. Not at all. In fact:

The school resource officer, a Broward sheriff’s deputy, promised to search Cruz’s home for a gun, according to the mental status assessment on Sept. 28, 2016. A sheriff’s report from the same date mentions no search for a gun, indicating only that Cruz wanted to buy one. The deputy who filed the report confirmed that Henderson and DCF were at the visit and said Cruz showed no signs of mental illness or criminal activity.

Question 1: Who was the school resource officer?

Question 2: Why, after promising, was there no search for a weapon??

How would mental health counselor Anna Del Barrio report that there wasn’t any guns in the home when no search was conducted?

Why, with ALL the evidence at hand, did no one take any other action other than to ban Cruz from JROTC and not allow him to carry a backpack at school?

This from Real Clear Investigations regarding the “re-engagement” program for serious juvenile offenders of Broward County sheds light on the answers. Answers that explain a great deal as to why Cruz went unchecked. The entire report will make your blood boil.

Since the program’s implementation, over 2,000 juveniles have been transitioned from jail BACK into the mainstream schools. Guess what they were incarcerated for?

Sexual Assault

Sexual Battery

Rape

Attempted Rape

Attempted Murder

Murder

Yes, you read the above correctly. Courtesy of the schools, the administration, and law enforcement, the program, a brain child of Obama’s lackey Arne Duncan, was implemented.

You know what happens when you turn dangerous criminals back into the mainstream who haven’t faced any real consequences for their actions? People get hurt, or killed.

So, while the Broward County Sheriff was grandstanding at the CNN Town Hall and blaming the NRA, and making excuses for his inaction…

…the facts are becoming excruciatingly clear.  Cruz’s attack was, and still remains, the responsibility of those who knew Cruz was a volatile powder keg waiting to blow. They knew and they did nothing.

Now they are really hoping that the NRA and the evil guns will be the scapegoat for their own failures.

Yeah, NO.

The spotlight is now shining very brightly on those who’ve known for years about Cruz. They all have some serious explaining to do!
