Rot In Hell – The Donald Trump Naughty List

In a nod to Santa Claus’s Naughty List, President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social to release a “Rot in Hell” list on Christmas Day. In my humble opinion, this is only a partial list. Trump mainly concentrated on the enemies within our country. Probably for the best, a real list of our outside enemies would rival Proust, and Trump is never boring.

Speaking of boring and enemies, Evan Barret, writer for the Missoula Current, was put in mind of Richard Nixon’s “Enemies List” by Trump’s “Rot in Hell” list and finding out who has been naughty:

‘Tis the season where most of the above lyrics are sung to little kids – reminding them to be good so that Santa might reward them for their nice behavior with a few toys and presents. The lyrics also remind us there are standards of positive behavior that we teach our children.

The song also reminds us that naughty behavior is possible, that the powers that be (e.g. Santa Claus) can also punish bad behavior – perhaps with no gifts or a lump of coal. But when you replace Santa Claus with Donald Trump the song takes on a deeply sinister meaning. It becomes a toxic mixture of projection and prediction – of future punishment for public officials and others who Donald Trump considers “naughty.”

You might say, “What’s the big deal, Richard Nixon had an enemies list.” One of the dramatic revelations of the Watergate investigation that lead to former President Richard Nixon’s resignation was the presence of an “opponents list” and a “political enemies project.” But Nixon, for all his failings, believed in our Constitutional structure.

A seasoned attorney, former Congressman, Senator and Vice President, Nixon tried in his own way to make our system of government work. Nixon recognized he’d done terrible things against our democracy and eventually, unlike Trump, had the character to resign. Nixon wasn’t willing to destroy our democracy to maintain his political power. Unlike the shameless Donald Trump, Nixon – a Quaker – felt “shame” which helped guide him to his resignation.

Oh, blah, blah, blah. Nixon’s enemies list was written by Charles Colson and not Nixon. Nixon never jailed his political enemies or tried to. And, a political leader telling us who they think is worthy of Hellfire and damnation is very helpful.

So here, from Truth Social, through X, is the Donald Trump “Rot in Hell” list:

I wanted to find a repost from a Trump hater for this post. These people deny that Trump is a Christian and then excoriate him for not being a Christian. I don’t care if Trump is a Zoroastrian as long as his policies are correct. And, Nepo Congresscritter Debbie Dingell doesn’t like Trump putting out his “Rot in Hell” list on our Lord’s birthday either.

Would “Rot in Purgatory” better? Their destruction of our country doesn’t stop for the Lord’s birthday. And, it wasn’t just evildoers like Biden and Jack Smith. The “Rot in Hell” list also included institutions and ideas being destroyed. From the Daily Beast:

Trump also took aim at a Christmas list of familiar targets, like taxes, the “Woke Military,” and “INFLATION,” which is significantly down. (A key inflation measure—Personal Consumption Expenditures—is down to 1.9% over the last six months, which is actually below the Federal Reserve’s 2% target.)

Trump also name-checked “Russia/Ukraine,” where the former president apparently plans to “solve” the war by not approving any additional military aid for Ukraine and actually pressuring Ukraine to “make a deal,” which would apparently entail Ukraine handing over some territory to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump called out the Afghanistan withdrawal, which doesn’t get enough attention in my view. Neither do the Open Borders or Green New Deal Scam.

I love this and think it should become an annual event. Much as Rand Paul’s Festivus List is annual.

Maybe you have some you would like to add to Trump’s “Rot in Hell” list?

He has lost his fastball and is not even clever or funny.

  • This is inappropriate for Chrstmas. He should have waited for New Years to post this. I could say this is typical Trumpian classlessness but it is really Trump just trolling his opponents and stirring up Ms. Willians and the faithful, you know like “Lock her up!!! ?”

Policy pronouncements are one thing. Implementation is another. When you brand people like Chip Roy as a RINO that may prove to be problematic.

Trump continues to pander to “the Angry American”… of which there are many. Time will tell how many fail to see through the bluster and vote Trump. In many ways, Trump was good for the country, but his day has passed. Let’s hope the right replaces him with a more suitable candidate.
