Republicans Hate Matt Gaetz, Want Him Out

It’s not a secret that there is a majority of Republicans who hate Matt Gaetz and find him so disgusting that they want him out. Even before the ousting of Speaker McCarthy, Republicans have not liked Gaetz for a long time now.

I knew this would start happening after the Santos boot. It opened the door to start kicking out people who disagree with you.

If you’re not aligning with the center-right, then out you go, pal. We’ll show you to the door. I suspect Marjorie Taylor Green and Lauren Boebert could be next.

It is indeed a weird day in America when Republicans align with the likes of Gigi Gator Girl (above X embed @zazzybritches), who claimed to be still jabbed and masked and touting a hashtag like  #FreePalestine. And I’ll be honest: I had never heard of Gigi Gator Girl until I searched for an X post to include here, and she came up with the latest result, with 19,000 followers.

Sour Grapes

There is a group of Republicans who are still sour over Gaetz’s initiation to remove McCarthy. And now that they’ve expelled Santos, it is their time to get revenge for Gaetz.

Leading up to Santos’ expulsion, multiple opponents of his removal publicly voiced their concerns about expelling a member who had not yet been convicted of a crime, which would overturn the precedent set by Congress in modern times.

One of those members was Gaetz himself, who openly defended Santos on the House floor.

“I rise not to defend George Santos whoever he is, but to defend the very precedent that my colleagues are willing to shatter,” Gaetz said last week. – USA Today

One Republican was brave enough to speak candidly to USA Today and, of course, anonymously (so bold) and said that Republicans had Matt Gaetz in mind when discussing and voting to expel George Santos.

But Matt Gaetz seemed to be willing to take the punishment. He’ll be fine, and he’ll find something else to do, I’m sure of it.

But where does that leave us now? No, Congress won’t go down in flames because Matt Gaetz isn’t there, but is this new precedent we are willing to go to now?

The Future

I am pretty sure expelling someone from Congress because you don’t like them isn’t how it is supposed to work. But then again, when have any parts of our government worked like it is supposed to work now that it is some sort of enormous conglomerate that works more like some big tech corporation than what the Founding Fathers envisioned. I have to say, though, that is partly our, The People’s, fault, too.

So now, when a small band of freedom and liberty-loving Republicans, Independents, and Libertarians try to speak up and say something, they are deemed The Crazies. Out you go! Off with your head!

And, of course, enter the House Ethics Committee:

The House Ethics Committee is currently investigating various allegations against Gaetz, including sexual misconduct, illicit drug use and misuse of campaign funds. – USA TODAY

Everyone with the campaign funds. And people are complaining that the House Ethics Committee isn’t moving fast enough for their liking.

If you’d like to see all of the investigations from the House Ethics Committee, CLICKY CLICK. While you’ll see a couple of Democrats, there seem to be more Republicans under investigation. That smacks.

The new norm is using the House Ethics Committee as a weapon to get people out who do not align with the swamp. That should be frightening to all of us. Sadly, I feel some are pulling for it.

So if you merely disagree with a person’s policies/beliefs you can expel her/him from office now? Scary stuff guys. Work smarter, Republicans!

Gaetz was under investigation before Santos. His attack on McCarthy was in part an attempt to inoculate him against possible sanction.Gaetz is despised lby all factions of the Party. His only friend is Lauren Boebert and she is going to get primaried out of office.

Ironically, Lauren Boebert first was elected by beating incumbent Republican Scott Tipton in the primary. I like her politics, but her self-destructive behavior is not gonna get her re-elected.
